BMW R-Series description

Bike is a 1974 BMW R90S that was originally Black Smoke and repainted to a Daytona Orange paint scheme at time of restoration 2007-08. Restoration work was done at Mischler's BMW in Beaver Dam, WI; receipts available. Actual history of the bike is not clear; I think I am the third owner. I got it out of an airplane hanger, started work on it, was in over my head, and then turned it over to Mischler's. This was NOT a frame up restoration. The drive train never left the frame. All seals, hoses, fluids were changed. Fork seals changed. Cylinders inspected. Heads inspected. Carbs rebuilt.  The bike had 16661 miles on it when I got it back in 2008 and has 23036 miles on the odometer now. NOTE: I am told this is not the instrument cluster original to the bike, so actual miles on bike is not known. I have put 6375 miles on the bike since restoration and have kept up on maintenance. The bike was a good runner up till 1 year ago but has only been started in the garage since then.  I added the Krauser saddle bags the second year bike was back on the road. Notice in the pictures that the bike HAS a kick start; 1974 was the last year a kick start was put on this bike. There is a picture of a solo seat off a R!00S that is included with the sale of this bike. The seat will not be sold separately. There is no seat hardware, hooks, latches, etc.

Cash or certified check required for payment. A $500.00 non-refundable payment will be required to hold bike for more than 10 days after sale if final sale arrangements cannot be made.

Buyer is responsible for pick-up and/or shipping of the bike. I will assist in this, but will not crate or transport the bike.

If there any questions, drop me a line and I will answer to the best of my ability.

Road Test: Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster

Wed, 09 Oct 2013

In the world of supercars, where image and presence are everything, the Mercedes SLR McLaren Roadster has the role of consummate drama queen perfectly nailed. The rolling thunder soundtrack from its supercharged V8 motor, amplified by its four side exhaust pipes, announces its impending arrival like a fanfare complete with drum rolls. Heads swivel, seeking the source.

WSBK 2013: Assen Race Report

Mon, 29 Apr 2013

Tom Sykes earned his first win of the 2013 season and came a hair short of a double victory at the World Superbike Championship round at Assen in the Netherlands. Traditionally a fast starter and qualifier, Sykes started on the pole once again at Assen and had strong starts in both races. But unlike the first two rounds where he started strong before fading, the Kawasaki factory rider was able to remain at the front in both races at Assen and earn some valuable championship points.
