BMW R-Series description

Up for sale is my babied 1200rt. This bike has been taken on 25 mile ride to work and back the last few years thats about it.I am not using it for what is what meant for (long rides) so time to let her go.Bike has always been garaged or covered with geza stretch cover. Amsoil synthetic oil has been changed yearly,between 3 and 4 k coming out looking brand new.Valve adjusts have been done on time.Gear oil changed every time i got a new rear tire.Onto the upgrades,black powder coated wheels( makes cleaning a breeze),header pipe jet hot coated black ( no blueing ) going out to a Leo Vince carbon fiber exhaust(not to loud and takes away sewing machine sound!). Larger windshield,extended shifter pegs.Rick Mayer custom seat(stock seat is narrow piece of garbage).Back rest shown in pictures is not with asking price,but can sell at a reasonable price (they sell for $400 new).Bike is for sale locally so i reserve the right to pull it.I will ride the first 75 miles free to any with the cash or paypal clearing.Past that we can work out delivery.I will ride to transport company as well if deal goes through.The bike is priced $2000 under blue book. $7300 OR BEST OFFER

Survey Says Harley-Davidson and BMW Motorcycles Less Reliable Than Japanese – But Owners Don’t Care

A new survey conducted by the Consumer Reports National Research Center finds BMW and Harley-Davidson  owners are much more likely to report major problems with their motorcycles than owners of Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha motorcycles. The survey, which will appear on the April 2013 issue of Consumer Reports, says one in three BMW owners reported experiencing a major problem with their bikes in the last four years. Harley-Davidson owners were slightly better, with one in four reporting serious issues.

Carlos Checa extended his lead in the 2011 World Superbike Championship, winning both races at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park. The Althea Ducati racer recorded his second double of the season and now has six wins in ten races. Checa also scored the double in Utah in 2008 when Miller Motorsports Park made its debut on the WSBK calendar.

2012 US Motorcycle Sales Results – Industry Reports 2.6% Increase

The Motorcycle Industry Council reported a 2.6% increase in motorcycle sales in the U.S. market for 2012. According to the industry group’s figures, American consumers purchased 452,386 motorcycles in 2012 compared to 440,899 motorcycles in 2011.
