I AM RELUCTANTLY OFFERING MY VERY ORIGINAL 1956 R50 BMW. I BOUGHT IT FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNER MANY YEARS AGO AND HAVE KEEP IT JUST ABOUT THE WAY I GOT IT. THE BIKE WAS BUILT IN 1956 AND IS REGISTERED AS A 1957. I DID INSTALL THE LARGE TANK, HEADLIGHT MIRRORS, NEW STEERING BEARINGS AND SIGNAL LIGHTS. PAINT, SEAT, SINGLE CROSS SPOKE RIMS ARE STOCK. MILEAGE IS CORRECT. NUMBERS MATCH, BUT THERE WAS NO HEAD TAG WHEN I GOT THE BIKE AND ONE WAS ADDED. HAS ORIGINAL KEYS, MANUAL, PUMP AND TOOL KIT.THE SEAT IS RIPPED AND THE BATTERY IS OLDER. THERE ARE NEW HEIDINEAU TIRES. THE BIKE RUNS AND DRIVES GOOD, BUT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR SOME MONTHS. I HAVE A TRANFERABLE REGISTRATION AND BILL OF SALE FOR THE NEXT OWNER. OEMs Plug into Electric Bikes
Sat, 01 Nov 2008KTM introduced its prototype electric motorcycle earlier this week, and electric bike manufacturer Zero Motorcycles almost immediately responded by opening sales on its 2009 Zero X dirt bike (look for our review of the 2008 model next week!). But these two companies aren’t the only ones exploring the possibilities of electric-powered motorcycles. In September, Japan’s largest industrial information journal Nikkei Business Daily reported that both Honda and Yamaha have set target dates for launching their own electric-powered motorcycles.
BMW Fuel Pump Recall Hits US, Affecting 50,184 Motorcycles
Mon, 06 Jan 2014A recall affecting 18 different BMW motorcycle models from seven model years has been announced for the U.S., affecting 50,184 motorcycles. At issue is a potential leak in the fuel pumps or auxiliary fuel pumps on 2005-2011 BMW R series models, 2005-2012 K series models, 2006-2010 HP2 models and 2010-2011 S1000RR sportbikes. A similar recall was announced last month in Canada, affecting 6,325 motorcycles, and we knew it was a matter of time before the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced one for the U.S.
BMW Partners with India’s TVS Motor, Plans Sub-500cc Models
Mon, 08 Apr 2013BMW announced it has signed a long-term agreement with Indian manufacturer TVS Motor to develop and produce small-displacement motorcycles. The two companies have been in discussions for several months now, but alliance is only now official. Under the agreement, BMW and TVS will work together to develop a new model with an engine displacement smaller than 500cc.
