Listing this bike for a friend who dos not have an ebay account.You are looking at the 2011 R1200GS, with only 5,214 miles. This bike is in truly like new condition. Other than few light scratches on the windshield, just from cleaning, there is not a mark of any kind that I can see. This is a one owner bike, included is the owner manual and tool kit, just as it comes from the factory. It's equipped with ABS, on board computer, heated hand grips, hand guards and BMW vario expandable cases. It's no exaggeration to refer to this bike ''like new''.  Never ridden off road, always garaged. It's under full factory warrantee until 4/30/2014. Tires have more than 50% tread. The bike is ready for the road, and it needs nothing. Color is, what BMW calls, ostra gray metalic. If you are local,  your personal inspection is encouraged prior to bidding. The German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) has announced the winner of its 2013 Design Awards, which asked students from across the world to submit their final graduating projects completed between October 2011 and July 2013. Eric Leong from Sweden's Umeå Institute of Design, came in first place with his 'Audi Elite' project, earning himself €4,000. Leong's single-person vehicle can be controlled using the entire body through gestures and movements, and adapts to the needs of the driver, giving them more control.

BMW posted another record quarter, reporting sales of 37,471 motorcycles in the three months ended June 30, 2011. First quarter unit sales were 3.6% higher than the 36,175 motorcycles sold in the same quarter of 2010. Combined with a record first quarter, BMW has sold 60,580 units in the first half of the year, a 6.3% increase over 2010.

2014 BMW R1200RT Officially Recalled in US

BMW has officially recalled the 2014 R1200RT in the U.S., after the company released a worldwide warning to customers about a potential defect with the rear suspension system. According to documents released by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the piston rod on the R1200RT’s Dynamic Electronic Suspension Adjustment (ESA) rear shock absorber may break without warning. The problem was first discovered April 1 after a warranty claim was filed in France.
