Absolutely amazing mint condition BMW R nineT for sale! I am the original owner of this bike and it was bought At BMW of Plano and had all services performed there. As you can see in the pictures I have had quite a bit of custom work done to it: Hand stitched leather seat Talil hump painted to match Hand painted double pinstripe on the front fender, gas tank, and tail hump. Carbon fiber rear fender Custom fabricated license plate bracket to match the curve and rear wheel and hub. Bar end mirrors (I still have the originals as well) Integrated LED taillight and turn signals 110 HP 12:1 compression 88 foot pounds of torque Shaft drive Two wheels 498 pounds wet weight I have $20,000 into the bike. IIHS Asks NHTSA to Make ABS Brakes Mandatory for All Street-legal Motorcycles in US
Fri, 07 Jun 2013The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety and the Highway Loss Data Institute have submitted a letter to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration petitioning in favor of making anti-lock brakes mandatory for all new on-highway motorcycles. The letter, addressed to David Strickland, NHTSA administrator, included a recent IIHS study on the effects of ABS on motorcycle fatal crash rates. The report found ABS technology reduces the rate of fatal crashes by 31%, while collision claim rates were 20% lower with ABS-equipped motorcycles.
