This is a great bike, if you are looking at it you know. I bought it in 2011 to ride with my best pal on little trips to fly fish and drift aroung- he was a great guy rode a 750 Guzzi to Costa Rica in 1974 till it broke
Well he is gone and I am in failing health my self- cant ride it any more It was bought from SE Detroit BMW John knows the bike and has all the records. Last year I spent about 2 weeks in the Finger Lakes and it got brand new tires that have 50 miles on then not even broken it- I alos added the flashing rear light and some very bright running lights- has the headed grips and comes with the two BMW Side Bags in Alum and a top bag The only issue I had with the bike is it wouldnt start- come to find out it was the failed design on the fuel pump- they replaced it under warranty and if you keep the pump covered with gas you are good to go It also has the very rare and rock solid Camel Toe side stand pad. I had this thing fully loaded and I got on an off with the side stand Has a Garmin pick up but not the lates garmin This bike cost me about 20 grand plus the lights bags etc It has to go, so I put the price at the level they are selll w no reserve I hope it goes to someone who will enjoy it as much as I did and ride the wheels off it bike is near Detroit you can come and ride it to LA it is that solid. Transport Canada Recalls 2013 BMW R1200GS for Traction Control Bug
Thu, 21 Feb 2013The 2013 BMW R1200GS hasn’t arrived in showrooms yet and it’s already been subjected to its second recall in Canada. Fortunately, this means the problems should be corrected before BMW‘s updated adventure-tourer gets delivered to customers. Earlier this month, Transport Canada announced a recall for the new R1200GS for a potential transmission oil leak.
Charley Boorman’s BMW R1200 GS Adventure Stolen – and Recovered
Fri, 27 Apr 2012Adventure touring documentary star Charley Boorman and his BMW R1200GS Adventure have traveled a long way together, but the motorcycle had a bit of an adventure on its own after thieves stole the bike. The stolen BMW wasn’t the one Boorman rode with Ewen McGregor in “Long Way Round” (that was a R1150GS Adventure) or the one used in the sequel “Long Way Down“. Boorman did ride it on his last project, “Charley Boorman’s Extreme Frontiers: Canada”.

Fri, 05 Apr 2013Whilst stretched out bikes aren't that popular over here in the UK, you can certainly appreciate them a whole lot more more when you know they're going to be used at a drag strip. This video shows bike builder and ex-racer Roland Sands work his magic on a BMW S1000RR. Future plans are to increase the engine to 300bhp, and achieve speeds of 220mph.
