2013 Long Beach International Motorcycle Show Report

Today the motorcycle press descended upon the Long Beach Convention Center to attend media day at the annual International Motorcycle Show. After feasting from a continental breakfast buffet the discerning journalists set to the task of reporting on the bounty of new model motorcycles – most of which has been previously showcased in our November EICMA reporting. BMW Scooter News Imminent?

BMW previously announced it will unveil two new scooter models at this fall’s EICMA Show in Milan, but the German manufacturer may have some news for us even sooner. BMW‘s global media site has a new section set up for scooter news. The section is empty at the moment, except for a subsection titled “Scooter Technology”.

The 390 Adventure Project – Upgrades and Adjustments

Following in the wake of the Biltwell 100 race, my confidence in the 390 Adventure and my ability to pilot it for long stretches off-road soared. The ability to combine the technical skills I learned in the ATX Moto Adventures and Sedlak Off Road classes, along with some good old-fashioned seat time, really paid off. In addition, there were two changes I made to the bike that firmly cemented my trust in piloting it through the sketchy sandy trails – a custom lowered seat from Seat Concepts, and some aggressive knobby tires.
