2010 BMW R1200GSA – LOADED!!

VIN:  WB1048000AZX65142

If you’re reading this ad, you probably already know that this is the granddaddy of adventure bikes and this one is truly set up to go the long-way around.  Ready yourself for the journey and in the meantime, enjoy the fall; it’s the best time to ride.

This bike is fitted with two BMW panniers, the endure transmission and the premium package.  The only items that I know of that are not on the cycle are electronic traction control and tire-gauge monitors.  The Electronic Suspension (ESA) is incredible, as are the heated grips, especially in the spring and fall.  To top it off, this bike has the 110hp BMW engine; two camshafts and four radially aligned valves per cylinder.  I’ve owed two other boxers and there is no comparison in performance.

The bike has been serviced by a tech in our local BMW club, a BMW junkie and one of the best techs that I know. He is employed at our local Harley Davison dealership where he does all of their metric bike work, so I just take my bike there.  I have all of the records and all components are BMW.  This bike has been serviced more than suggested by BMW.  With just over 19,000 miles on it, it’s had seven oil changes, four final drive and transmission changes, brake fluid change, air filter, new spark plugs and on and on.  The last full service was performed on 9/11/2013 at 17,927 miles and this included a new set of Metzler Torrence tires.  Bike has always been garaged and kept in great condition.

Now for the “farkles” that I’ve added; over three grand worth excluding the installation cost on many of them.  I was surprised at how little some of the key areas of the bike are not factory protected; this one is truly ready for the Alaskan run.

Safety:             Commercial grade reflective tape on panniers

                        XP3 electronic deer whistle

                        Stebel Nautilus Air-horn

                        ZTechnik mirror extenders

                        Touratech kickstand support/extension

Comfort:          Saddleman “lower” front seat.  Rear stock seat is included, but not shown.  I do not have the original seat.  I had that turned into a Bill Mayer seat; it did not fit me well so I sold it.  Kaoko throttle control

Motorrad Verholen handlebar barbacks (up and back)

                        Pivot-pegs

                        Cushioned grips

Protection:       Adventure Designs engine guard extensions

                        Advant front fender extender

                        Maier rear splashguard

Altrider stainless steel headlight guard with quick release

                        Altrider oil cooler guard

Best Products front engine guard (the best I’ve ever seen)

Best Products skid plate (the best that I’ve ever seen)

                        Touratech centerstand engine guard

                        Touratech oxygen sensor guards

                        Touratech exhaust flap protection guard

Touratech ESA sensor protection guards (front and rear)

                        Touratech throttle potentiometer guard

                        Touratech oxygen sensor guards

                        Touratech fuel line guards

                        Touratech ABS sensor guard

                        DS auxiliary light guards

                        DS final drive guard

Adventure Design rear shaft/axle protector by R&G

Electrical         Powerlet Socket for rear power (always hot)

Fuzeblock FZ-1 for centralized power connections; keyed and un-keyed.

COST:            Base Price with two panniers                         $ 22,190

                        Add-ons (excluding installation)                      $   3,000

                                    TOTAL COST                                    $ 25,190

My starting price is $15,000, which is the amount that the State College, PA, BMW dealership offered me on a trade.  If I traded, I’d save the sales tax, too, another $900 in PA.  I’m 60++ and need to scale back, but I’m just not sure yet on the best solution, so in the meantime, I’m going to try to sell it privately.  It is for sale locally, too, so I reserve the right to end the auction early.  I also intend to continue riding it, so the actual miles will go up a bit.

Title is clear

There are minor shale dings on the left cylinder guard (pictured); my stupidity in my driveway and the reason that I bought the expensive engine guard extensions.  No other damage beyond normal wear and tear.

Pictures show GPS holder in windshield area and Powerlet socket on handlebars.  These are not included in the sale; I’m sure that I’ll use them on my next bike.

Bike is FOB Somerset, PA, USA, exit 110 on the PA turnpike.  Prefer pick-up only; I’ve been through the shipping routine before and it took seemingly forever, but will entertain as long as the bike is paid for within seven days of the auction.  I am 90 miles east of Pittsburgh International Airport and will make arrangements to pick you up or the regional Johnstown or Latrobe, PA airports.  Ride it homeJ

Qualified bidders only.  No negatives, minimum of 5 EBay transactions.  Call me to discuss if you have not used EBay, but feel that you are qualified.

$500 PayPal deposit within 48 after close of the auction.  Full payment in seven days; cash or certified funds.

Thanks for looking and bidding.  Check my history with EBay; it’s impeccable.  Ask me any questions via  email or phone (814) 521-5740.  THIS IS A GREAT BIKE; the best that I’ve ever owned.   It’s been a fun project, but it getting a bit too much for me to handle at age 60++

Craig

PS:  I had to resize my pictures for EBay; I trust that they will still show good detail.  If not, let me know and I can send individually to your email address.

PSS:  I am making this a five day auction because I may be out of town next weekend.

Man Sues BMW for Causing Persistent Erection

Fri, 27 Apr 2012

A man is suing BMW and seat-manufacturer Corbin-Pacific because a four-hour motorcycle ride gave him an erection that would not go away. The civil suit, filed in the Superior Court of California in San Francisco, alleges the plaintiff, Henry Wolf, developed a severe case of priapism after a long ride on a 1993 BMW motorcycle. Priapism is a medical condition where a penis becomes erect and does not return to a flaccid state.
