This is a very nice 2008 R1200GS. It has 16600 mostly highway miles on it. I have taken it on a trip around the country with two people and all gear needed to camp for 2 months without a problem. It was then used it as a commuter bike.
It is stock with the only addition being crash bars (Twisted Throttle) added after about 1500 miles. Heated grips, computer, abs breaks, cross spoke wheels, hand guards, and on and on. The luggage is stock BMW expandable cases. There is a backrest built onto the top case. The keys (original) operate all of the locks on the bike and luggage. Original manual and tool set under the seat. Installed brand new battery last year. The tires (Bridgestone Battlax) have less than 100 miles on them and were replaced at the end of last season. Annual maintenance 10 days ago at Harley Davidson/BMW louisville (As you can see in the picture the next maintenance is June 2017). I have records for the bike including purchase price. I am the first and only owner. The issues are pictured above. They are cosmetic. Mechanically and otherwise the motorcycle is in absolutely excellent condition. These bikes run for 120k+ without any major work. It will offer you as many memories as it has me. The bike is priced about a thousand under NADA guide value. Corser, who got to drive Heidfeld’s 700 horsepower car, said: "It was just awesome! European Parliament Makes ABS Mandatory, Tighten Emissions Standards by 2016
Wed, 21 Nov 2012The European Parliament voted overwhelmingly in favor of new rules that would increase emission standards and make anti-lock braking systems mandatory for all new large motorcycles, scooters and trikes and quads by 2016. The new regulations, which would still need approval from European Union member states, may only directly affect Europe, but they will have a wide-reaching affect on manufacturers’ product development for other markets. BMW, for example, has already made ABS standard for all its motorcycles for 2013.
Used Review: Clover GT3 jacket
Fri, 01 Aug 2008I’ve been wearing this waterproof textile jacket since March and it’s performed very well. The silver colour shows up dirt something rotten, there’s a stark lack of useful pockets and the cut is quite square, but as a jacket to keep the cold and water out it’s been right up to the job. It’s my daily commuting top, one of those jackets you throw on without thinking about it, and now that it’s summer I can’t see the point in getting a replacement anytime soon.
