Spotted at this year's Motorcycle Live. The 'net is awash with gold-wrapped and horrendously painted supercars, often sporting Middle-Eastern numberplates but this S1000RR isn't an Arab creation. Nope, it's a one-off paintjob by BMW for the 2012 Olympics, where BMW supplied cars and bikes to ferry around VIPs.

With the liter-class superbike category eternally in an arms race for top dog, BMW has today announced a heavily updated S1000RR is making its way here in 2023, bringing with it several changes first seen on the M1000RR, but also a few tweaks of its own.

BMW is Working On An Electric Boxer Motorcycle

BMW's electric future may have a nod to its past BMW released its second electric scooter earlier this year in the CE 04, and has made clear it plans to produce more electric two-wheelers in the near future. Oliver Zipse, chairman of the board of management for BMW AG, recently went as far as to say BMW Motorrad will introduce a new electric two-wheeler every 18 to 24 months, with the next model coming in 2023. While the initial models will be scooters or “urban mobility vehicles,” BMW is expected to eventually add electric motorcycles to its lineup.
