BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
This is a no reserve auction. Your bid could win!
Up for sale is my 2001 BMW R1150GS. 71,000+ miles. Daily rider bike, so miles will go up. Factory ABS and heated grips. This is a very well maintained, reliable,
daily ridden, garage kept on a battery tender bike. Regular service, with all records from original sales
invoice to last oil change. According to the paper work I am the 4th owner, and have had it 3 years. I have ridden all over on trips through NJ, up to Maine, down
to Maryland, etc. I ride to work. I ride on the weekends, in the
heat, and in the cold. I ride in the sun. I ride in the rain, I ride in the snow. This is the bike that will get you wherever you want to go. It's the perfect GS for someone who wants to enjoy riding the dickens out of a bike with out concern for "mussin' it up", yet you can hose her down and pop over to Starbucks for an impromptu show-n-shine. Having said that, it's a 12 year old motorcycle with 71k on it.
Farkles: PIAA amber fog lights wired to high beam switch (work AWESOME, but showing signs of paint bubbling on rear housings), BMW Navigator III unit, Aerostitch sourced voltmeter/timer/air temp gauge mounted on handlebar (gets finicky when wet), Hyperlites
LED flashing brake lights, Kildala center
stand skid plate (not shown), BMW tank bag, Touratech hand-guard spoilers (not shown) and color matched side covers, BMW
side cases with key (not keyed to ignition), Aftermarket (Hepco & Becker) top case (Lock jammed. I
use a screw driver to open and close it), Sargent front seat. SPOT locator seen in pics
not included in sale. Included is a three ring binder BMW Repair manual for R1150GS bikes, and all repair records.
Condition- Given the bike is 12 years old and has over 71k on it, the condition is very good. Cosmetically, she shows very very well. Tank is scratch and dent free except for a light scratch on top that does not go through the paint. (minor) Front of tank lobes have a couple spots of rock chips that have been touched up. Windshield is a bit yellowed, with some scratching and signs of hazing. Cylinder head protectors have scratches. Some screws and bolts have minor surface rust. Rear swing arm paint has minor discoloring from someone going over-happy with some sort of cleaner. (again, minor) Metzeler Tourances are in great shape, and have plenty of meat on them. All gauges in RID work. Mechanically, she's been stone reliable. All in all a great looking bike that's 12 years old, not mint, but dang nice. I would not be selling, but that new water head GS has it's hooks in me!
I am located in Howell, New Jersey, about an hour south of New York City, and an hour east of Philadelphia. If you are out of state, I can hold the bike for you for a reasonable period of time (like a couple weeks, not months or years) until you arrange to ship or collect the bike. I am a pretty reasonable and accommodating person, so just communicate with me about the logistics. Please note the below terms....
Terms- Winning bidder will make a $500.00 deposit via PayPal within 48 hours of auction close, and balance of sale price to be paid in 7 days from auction close. Cash on pick-up will result in production of a title, and keys to bike. Check, money order or any payment other than U.S. legal tender will result in a friendly handshake and invitation to return in 14 days to allow said payment to clear. If picking up in person within 48 hours I will waive the initial $500 deposit requirement. Again, just communicate with me, let me know you are a real person, with some semblance of normalcy, and I'll work with you.
