BMW R-Series description
No reserve auction! For sale is a great condition 2000 R1150GS. I love the bike but need to make room in the garage - too many bikes. Bike is being sold as is where is. I will reasonably assist your shipper with pick-up coordination; the bike is located in Southern California and has spent most of its life here in perfect, dry riding conditions. The bike has normal usage for this kind of bike (mostly commuting and a handful of easy off-road rides), and shows minor nicks and scratches typically seen on a 16 year old motorcycle that is not a garage queen. The bike has the following features and farkles:
- Aftermarket PIAA additional lighting - Rhinewest performance chip for smoother power delivery and slightly increased power over stock - Firm aftermarket Corvin saddle. Great for longer rides much better than stock. Seat was lower than stock and I have it on longer screws and risers for my long legs. Can be lowered with shorter/stock screws installed and steel risers removed. Saddle also has a port for a Corbin passenger backrest if you have one or want to purchase one. - stainless steel brake lines installed - SW Motech crash bars installed - system cases included and keyed to ignition key - aftermarket tall CalSci windshield. Much better than stock. Stock screen will come with bike also. - trickle charging port installed for easy trickle charging - mount for IPhone included on handlebars - great for navigation - bar risers - motorcycle has the much-desired ABS-II (the ABS version without the expensive, annoying, and overly-complicated servo motors, which later year 1150s come with as standard) *update* - I forgot to add that metal fuel line quick disconnects are installed (makes removal a tank super fast) Regarding maintenance: - clutch fluid flush within last 11 mos. - brake fluid flush within last 11 mos - valves and throttle synch within 1000 miles - new front and rear brake pads installed within 2000 miles - transmission fluid change within 2000 miles - oil change within 2000 miles - final drive fluid change within 2000 miles (no play on rear wheel - Fd bearings appear to be in good shape no issues) - fuel filter within 1000 miles - air filter within 1000 miles - new grips on handlebars - headlight bulb within 500 miles - no leaks - everything works as it should - heated grips, lights, horn, signals, all work perfectly - engine runs smoothly, starts and idles well - better than my other Oilheads - Bike shifts well through all gears (has "E" overdrive 6th gear - which is great for highway use) - I would get a new front tire soon - otherwise the bike is ready to go anywhere - ABS works well (and ABS lights stop flashing at 3-4 mph as designed) This bike is still being used in my bike rotation. It has been a great ride but I need to make room - no known mechanical issues (needs a new front tire soon). The bike is currently registered in CA. A $500.00 nonrefundable deposit is due within 24 hours of end of auction. The remainder is due within 3 days of auction end. I accept: Cash in Person or Bank Certified/Cashier's check. PayPal is not accepted for full payment (only for the $500.00 non-refundable deposit). Winning bidder must contact me within 24 hours of auction end, and make arrangements for payment at that time. If no contact is made within 24 hours I reserve the right to re-list the vehicle, sell it to the next high bidder, or sell it otherwise. Do not assume anything not listed is included. I reserve the right to end the listing if the vehicle is no longer for sale. |

BMW C650GT Recalled in Canada for Loose Luggage Rack Fasteners
Mon, 27 May 2013Transport Canada announced a recall for the 2013 BMW C650GT scooter because of a problem with its accessory luggage rack mounting. On certain units, the fasteners which secure the luggage rack to the rear of the passenger grab rail may loosen over time. This may lead to the rack, and any cases attached to it, to fall off, potentially striking other vehicles, pedestrians or other objects.
World Supersport 300 Championship to End After 2025 Season

According to an announcement from the Superbike Commission which sets the regulations for production-based racing, the 300 class will be replaced by a new entry-level series for 2026 and beyond. Vines motorcycle scrappage
Fri, 17 Jul 2009Following this year’s earlier Budget announcement about the government’s car scrappage scheme, Vines of Guildford BMW has created a similar scheme for motorcycles. Bike owners with motorcycles bought five or more years ago will be given £1,000 off the list price of a new BMW motorcycle when using their old bike as a part-exchange*. Riders just need to ensure they have at least six months MOT left and the bike must be taxed with clear HPI. Just like the Government’s car scrappage scheme has been put in place to help drivers, and the car industry, through tough economic times, Vines of Guildford wanted to offer motorcyclists the same opportunity, to purchase a brand new BMW motorcycle with the benefit of the £1,000 part exchange. As well as enjoying this benefit on the purchase price of a new BMW bike, riders can also look forward to complimentary panniers with all new R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure models, and complimentary Zumo sat nav system with the new R1200RT until 30 Sept, plus access to BMW’s Select Finance options to get riders on their bikes straight away with the option to change their new bike every two to three years.
