BMW R-Series description

Offered up for sale is our 1998 BWW R1200C.  My wife saw this bike and fell in love with it.  We got it home, she rode it once and is scared to death of it.  Bike has a lot of torque and she isn't cool with that so it has to go.  Bike has the leather wrapped luggage (as seen in the picture) and BMW battery charger.  Also has a set of straight pipes and a Corbin dual passenger seat that the buyer can have but will have to provide for separate shipping (unless you are picking it up in person or your shipper will haul that as well).   The bike doesn't get ridden but starts right up every time.  Priced to sell.  If you arrange shipping, I will make the bike available for pickup but won't pallet or prep the bike without prior agreement.   Really great bike for the money.  For some reason, it isn't showing up in the ad but the winning bidder is required to make a $250.00 deposit within 24 hours of auction close. NOTE: Bike is available for sale locally.  Seller reserves the right to end the auction earlier if sold before auction ends.

More on 2012 BMW S1000RR Recall

Fri, 27 Apr 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced the recall for the 2012 BMW S1000RR, providing more information about the problem. According to documents released by NHTSA, the bolts on the connecting rods in the BMW S1000RR may come loose because of an anti-corrosive agent applied to the bolts. The anti-corrosive agent may effect the bolt torque, potentially leading them to come loose, particularly at high temperatures or rpms.

Honda CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP Coming to US for 2025

Fri, 07 Jun 2024

Updated model gets certified by CARB After being absent from the 2024 offerings, the CBR1000RR-R Fireblade SP is poised to return to American Honda’s lineup for 2025 with the updates introduced at EICMA. The Fireblade SP was last offered in the U.S. as a 2023 model, and when Honda announced an updated version last November, we were disappointed to hear nary a peep from American Honda about the superbike.

EICMA 2012: BMW Announces New Boxer to Mark 90th Anniversary

Tue, 13 Nov 2012

Over the summer, we came across spy photos of a new naked version of the BMW S1000RR and a new air-cooled boxer roadster and hoped at least one of the two would be unveiled at either Intermot or the EICMA. Intermot came and went without a word and now EICMA is upon us we have … well, several words but no new model. Yet.
