I am pleased to offer for sale this wonderful BMW Airhead R1100R. This is a heavily optioned original owner bike located here in the beautiful hamlet of Bedford Village NY, just 42 miles north of Times Square, just west of the Greenwich/ Stamford border. I have known of this bike for years and after it went in for a major brake service at Solo Moto in Greenwich CT last month, I was able to negotiate its purchase while in the shop. This is a matching numbers, one owner, totally original, undamaged motorcycle. As you would expect it has a clear Connecticut State title with no liens, loans or damage history. The bike is totally serviced, safe and ready to use. Some of the options include front and rear ABS, heated hand grips, front standard size OEM windscreen, hand-grip guards, cylinder protection guards, 4 way safety flashers, keyed helmet lock and lockable removable matching panniers with rain covers. All the keys, owners, service, riders manual and dealer books are included as well as the last service in the amount of $781 performed this month. The paint color is quite beautiful, a medium metallic blue. Again the paint and all the decals are in perfect condition and original from the date of manufacture in March of 1977. The mechanicals have never been altered. The brakes, suspension, exhaust, seats, wheels, electrics, handle bars and all accessories are original BMW. I am also including an original BMW Helmet from my own collections. This is a buy and drive machine. In other words, Buy it and Ride it! If you are an out of state buyer, relax! 2009 BMW S1000RR Officially Introduced [Pics and Video]
Tue, 12 May 2009BMW has officially introduced their literbike contender: The 2009 BMW S1000RR. The pertinent numbers are a claimed 193 horsepower (at the crankshaft) and a 403.5-lb claimed dry weight. In a ready-to-ride form including fuel, BMW says to expect 450 lbs of weight.

Mon, 04 Oct 2010Not sure what's going on with the sound in this vid, but it calms down after a minute - sorry! As my long term BMW S1000RR does most of its miles working hard on track days, I felt an early 6000 mile service might be a good idea. A quick phone call to my local dealer (the friendly and efficient Pidcocks) saw my bike in the workshop the following week and back in my hands by lunchtime.

Thu, 03 May 2012We already know BMW started 2012 off with a record first quarter with 24,373 motorcycles sold, with an additional 2,642 units from its Husqvarna subsidiary. BMW‘s quarterly report now reveals the U.S. accounted for 3,429 units sold in the first three months of the year, a 47.9% increase from 2,319 units over the same quarter of 2011.
