BMW R-Series description

RELISTED.  Bike sold to a Canadian buyer, who paid in full but ran into major problems transporting/importing the bike into Canada.  I released Buyer and retained deposit.

Beautiful Marrakech Red R1100RS in excellent condition.  First of BMW's revolutionary 'oilhead' models.  Cycle Magazine's Motorcycle of the Year 1994.  Very well maintained, all records from new.  Has had all major maintenance done including clutch, rear pivot bearing, front shock mount etc.  Flawless paint and brightwork.  Factory 4-piston front Brembos, adjustable Works Performance shocks front and rear, desirable Staintune exhaust sounds great.  Heated grips. Factory hard bags with soft inner bags. Factory alloy wheels are straight and true.  Bridgestone BT023 tires f&r with under 300 miles on them.  Comes with 3 windshields: factory original, Airflow +3.5" (pictured), and +7" Parabellum with Laminar Lip deflector.  Complete tool kit and Haynes manual, various other spares included.  This bike runs strong, and suitable for wide range of uses from twisties to full up touring.  I have enjoyed it very much. Selling because I already have an older R90S sport-tourer, and to make room for a R1200GSA.

Buy it Now price includes brand new large Givi tail bag ($90); Bing factory Throttle Body Rebuild Kit ($225); OEM head gasket and valve cover gasket kits ($190) (all purchased to have on hand, bike doesn't need them).  Call 912-695-8001 with any questions.

FIM to Revise WSBK Homologation Requirements

Fri, 17 Jan 2014

The International Motorcycling Federation is considering modifying its homologation requirements for the World Superbike Championship following Bimota‘s somewhat surprising plans to re-enter the series. Under current regulations, manufacturers must produce a minimum number of motorcycles for it to be eligible to compete in the production-based WSBK championship. The official regulations currently require a minimum of 125 units produced for an initial homologation inspection, 500 units produced by June 30 of the current year, 1,000 units by the end of the current year and 2,000 units by the end of the following year.
