BMW R-Series tech info
BMW R-Series description
Recently refreshed with rebuilt transmission, top end rebuild (new piston rings, head gaskets, and valve cover gaskets), new spark plugs, new air filter, brake fluid flush, new battery, and new tires. Only problems is the broken side bag frame (bag still attaches and feels secure). Heated grips and all lights are in good working order. Pulls strong and stops well.
Please note the speedometer has been changed, so although the bike shows 4,500 miles, there are another 58,500 miles on the old odometer for a total of 63,000 miles. More pictures and videos available. |

Buck Perley and Amy Mathieson completed their trek, traveling all 33 of China’s provinces in 147 days on a CF Moto 650TK sport-tourer. Guinness World Records still needs to ratify the couple’s journey, but if it stands, they will have surpassed the previous record of 18,041 miles set by Steven H. Siler earlier this year, after he completed his 26-day trip around the U.S.
2013 BMW C600 Sport Fairing Recall Extended to US
Mon, 10 Dec 2012Last week, Transport Canada issued a recall on the 2013 BMW C600 Sport due to a risk of the scooter’s side fairings coming loose at high speeds. The recall has now reached the U.S., with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration also announcing a recall. According to documents released by NHTSA, the three “snap-lock” fasteners securing the left and right side trim panels may not have sufficient strength to hold the fairing in place at speeds higher than 100 mph.
