BMW R-Series description

Selling 1978 BMW R100rs. I bought in 2008 and it came with the original fairing, which I had removed as I prefer the naked look better. I got it at 50K miles and now it has about 60,300 miles.

The bike runs great and never let me down. I am selling it because I don’t get to use it enough. It comes with two original saddle bags (the lock of one of them is broken), original paint (not the tank, which I replaced), ohlins rear shocks and much more.

Over these eight years I wanted to bring it back to its old glory and have several improvement/maintenance jobs done at Motorcycle Works shop in Brooklyn, where it was extremely well taken care of. This below is a brief list of what has been done in the last 6K miles; I can provide complete service history:

New Yuasa battery

New clutch

Restored speedometer

New headlight

New brakes pads

Rebuilt carburetors

Rebuilt engine (new valves, reconditioned cylinder heads and barrels, etc)

New timing chain

All new wires

Replaced all forkseals

Lastly, before putting it on the market I had a tune up and the annual NYS inspection done (valid until end of July 2017). All fluids are new, tank clean, valves tuned, carburetors checked, new fuel and oil filters, etc.

Feel free to ask any question.

The buyer is responsible for vehicle pickup or shipping.
