BMW R-Series description
1975 BMW R90/6 custom cafe racer. This bike was built by me about 4 years ago for a friend. I purchased it from the original owners son after he passed. He owned a small european car repair shop and used the bike to commute to work and back once in a while. The odometer was not working when it was purchased, but was told it only had just over 20,000 miles. There was a full service history for the bike but that was left with the original owners son for sentimental reasons.
Everything on it can easily be reverted back to stock and nothing has been cut or welded on the bike that was original. It was immediately taken apart and redone into the cafe when purchased. The has a is a custom bolt on subframe, custom cafe seat with diamond stitch pattern leather, LED tail light and turn signals. The seat is black gelcoat which matches the original black BMW paint perfectly. The front end has custom made headlight brackets, a stainless steel rock guard on the headlight, powdercoated black clip on handlebars with matching diamond pattern grips, and an upgraded front fender/fork brace. The gauges have been removed for a much cleaner look, however everything is still there tucked under the tank if you wanted to put some back. The gas tank is the original 1975 BMW paint with the hand painted pinstripes. It is not perfect but is very nice and has a little bit of a patina from use. The bike also has a set of custom billet rearsets to complete the true cafe racer conversion. The engine was just given a tune up and it runs very strong without issue. No leaks or problems. It has very a expensive EnDuraLast upgraded electronic ignition with new ignition coils, and the EnDuraLast modern charging system. These were over $1000.00 to do and it makes the bike as reliable as a modern bike. No more points to mess with or weak charging system to worry about. There is also a new lithium battery mounted to the airbox eliminator kit for even more reliability and performance. UNI foam filters and a set of upgraded mufflers complete the engine. The headers have also just been rewrapped with heat wrap. The suspension has also all just been redone. Performance Hagon rear shocks, and a rebuild front end with new seals, fork oil, and progressive rate springs. The wheels are powdercoated satin black and have new bearings in them and a new set of Firestone tires and tubes. This bike needs absolutely nothing other than a new owner ready to enjoy it! Everywhere this bike goes it forms a crowd. Park it next to a new $30,000 Harley and no one will even notice the other bike. A true cafe racer that is a blast to ride around on! I can assist with shipping both internationally and domestically. Clean Florida title in hand. image hosting image hosting image hosting image hosting image hosting image hosting image hosting image hosting image hosting image hosting image hosting image hosting image hosting |

BMW is Working On An Electric Boxer Motorcycle
Tue, 14 Jun 2022BMW's electric future may have a nod to its past BMW released its second electric scooter earlier this year in the CE 04, and has made clear it plans to produce more electric two-wheelers in the near future. Oliver Zipse, chairman of the board of management for BMW AG, recently went as far as to say BMW Motorrad will introduce a new electric two-wheeler every 18 to 24 months, with the next model coming in 2023. While the initial models will be scooters or “urban mobility vehicles,” BMW is expected to eventually add electric motorcycles to its lineup.
BMW R 1300 GS, R 1400 GS and M 1300 GS Expected for 2023
Tue, 29 Mar 2022All three expected to share a new liquid-cooled Boxer engine Credit: Photos by Bernhard Höhne Last summer, we published photos of a very raw BMW GS prototype undergoing testing. The test mule was heavily disguised, to the point of having panels with a fake trellis covering the real subframe. The prototypes were so raw, it was difficult to tell exactly how much of it would make it to a production model.
