BMW R-Series description

1974 BMW R90S with non matching engine block (original matching bare block was subsequently found and comes with the bike). This is the 239th R90S ever built, making it a very early example. It still retains it's original wheels and solid front brake disks which are correct for this model year. Original and rebuilt Dellorto carburetors. Also has the early style switches, vastly better than the 1975 and 1976 style. Before the re-paint, the tank was internally cleaned and sealed with Caswell 2-part epoxy; ethanol-proof. Frame is straight, no damage.
Flatracer Daytona fairing
Monza fuel cap
Custom seat by Thor
Modified read fender
San Jose BMW vintage racing rearsets
San Jose BMW rebuilt heads
Dual plugged
Toaster Tan dropped triple tree
Tarrozi adjustable clipons
Acewell electronic instrument gauge
Norton peashooter style stainless steel mufflers
Electronic ignition
Rebuilt 5-speed transmission with factory kicker
Re shimmed and re-sealed rear drive and driveshaft
All new brakes
All new cables, tires, and other perishables refreshed
Numerous other new OEM parts, too many to list.
New battery
Everything was gone through and refreshed/rebuilt and made right during the build (approximately 2 years ago).
This bikes runs, shifts and stops fantastically. It's a joy to ride and very comfortable despite what you may think about this styling. I'm 6'-1" tall and very comfortable on it. The bars are infinitely adjustable to suit your preference.
Although this is a very custom R90S, nothing irreversible was done. So if you want to bring it back to it's factory stock configuration, it's easily do-able.
This bike was built to be a reliable rider, but it shows equally well, always draws attention.
Call me anytime if you'd like to come see it before bidding. (917) 952-1680.
