1974 BMW R90S with non matching engine block (original matching bare block was subsequently found and comes with the bike). This is the 239th R90S ever built, making it a very early example. It still retains it's original wheels and solid front brake disks which are correct for this model year. Original and rebuilt Dellorto carburetors. Also has the early style switches, vastly better than the 1975 and 1976 style. Before the re-paint, the tank was internally cleaned and sealed with Caswell 2-part epoxy; ethanol-proof. Frame is straight, no damage.

It's a joy to ride and very comfortable despite what you may think about this styling. I'm 6'-1" tall and very comfortable on it. The bars are infinitely adjustable to suit your preference. Although this is a very custom R90S, nothing irreversible was done. So if you want to bring it back to it's factory stock configuration, it's easily do-able. Fri, 27 Apr 2012Adventure touring documentary star Charley Boorman and his BMW R1200GS Adventure have traveled a long way together, but the motorcycle had a bit of an adventure on its own after thieves stole the bike. The stolen BMW wasn’t the one Boorman rode with Ewen McGregor in “Long Way Round” (that was a R1150GS Adventure) or the one used in the sequel “Long Way Down“. Boorman did ride it on his last project, “Charley Boorman’s Extreme Frontiers: Canada”.
