1974 R90/6 - have owned since 1986, had 11k when purchased.
new pushrod tube seals, fuel lines and filters, 2-3 year old battery, good tires, runs fine. had pinhole leak in tank behind left knee pad approx 10 years ago fixed with napa gas tank epoxy still is fine. nut on nose of cam broke off years ago and cam was drilled and tapped for bolt to hold timing advance, happens to many of these bikes. original paint other than under left knee pad on tank, part of seat pan, and some scratches and nicks on the frame here and there touched up with a small paint brush. still ride it some, selling due to distracted drivers. have kept up on maint, oil changes, valve adjustments. |

BMW Announces Winners of “Ride of Your Life” Tour Contest
Wed, 19 Dec 2012BMW Motorrad announced the winners of its “Ride of Your Life” contest, giving five people the chance to travel on a worldwide tour on the new R1200GS. The five winners are Stephanie Rowe, a 25-year-old enduro racer who works in the motorcycle accessories industry in the U.K., Herbert Unger, a 50-year-old German metal worker, Alessio Cigolini, an Italian who loves riding through Tuscany, Salvador Echevarrķa, a 41-year-old businessman from Spain, and Stephane Gautronneau, a 39-year-old fashion photographer from France. The five winners were selected for their sense of adventure, ability to work as part of a team and physical fitness by a panel of celebrities including actors Adrian Brody, Rick Yune and Charley Boorman and Paris-Dakar winner Jutta Kleinschmidt.
BMW Reports 14% Sales Increase in US in 2012
Thu, 03 Jan 2013BMW reported sales of 12,057 motorcycles in the U.S. in 2012, representing a 14.0% increase on the 10,572 units sold in 2011. Leading the way was the S1000RR, with BMW selling 1,934 of the sportbikes this year.
Preliminary 2012 MotoGP Entry List Released
Fri, 13 Jan 2012The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) has released a preliminary entry list for the 2012 MotoGP World Championship. The provisional list includes 21 riders in the premiere class, including nine classified as Claiming Rule Team entries. Defending MotoGP Champion Casey Stoner will wear the #1 plate for the 2012 season, the first with both CRT entries and the new 1000cc engine displacement cap.
