BMW R-Series description

I'm a vintage BMW enthusiast and restored this bike in 2014. I tried to return the bike to as close to factory condition as possible. Original hardware, clamps, etc. were used everywhere possible. Original parts were cadmium plated, chrome plated, or polished to original condition. I have pictures of the restoration and a folder full of receipts to go to the buyer. The process took about 6 months and almost $8000.

It is a short wheel base model. The bike has 223km (140mi) on it since restoration. It starts and runs perfectly. Ready for you to ride and enjoy or take to shows.

Some of the things that were done include:

Frame, subframe, swingarm, centerstand etc. stripped and powder coated satin black
Tapered steering head bearings
Forks rebuilt with new seals and oil
New Hagon shocks
Wheels relaced with chrome "clover-leaf" spokes and nipples
New Avon tires, tubes and rim strips
New brake shoes
New exhaust system
Low "sport" handlebar
New chrome side panels
Rechromed tank panels, fender brace, and grab handle
Original hardware stripped and cadmium plated

Cylinder heads rebuilt by Cycleworks
New top end gaskets and seals
New rear main seal and transmission input seal
New clutch
Carbs ultrasonically cleaned and rebuilt
