FIM Updates Superbike Racing Homologation Lists for 2013

The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) has released an updated list of motorcycles homologated for the 2013 Superbike, Supersport, and Superstock racing season. Notable additions include the new BMW S1000RR HP4, the MV Agusta F3 and the Superbike-spec Ducati 1199 Panigale R. To qualify a production-based racebike for FIM homologations, manufacturers have to meet certain production thresholds.

Representatives of a young studio Officine Sbrannetti were the first to respond, proposing a project for the reincarnation of the legendary BMW RS54 Rennsport. BMW announced it will unveil at least five new models over the next few months, starting with the production version of the C evolution electric scooter. BMW will likely reveal most of these new models at the 2013 EICMA Show in Milan in November but the new electric scooter will make its public debut tomorrow at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. “No fewer than five new models will be unveiled to the public in the coming months.
