BMW R-Series description

This R-27 has been in our family for over 45 years. I had Kevin Brooks at Brooks Motor Works in Washington do a frame off restoration that cost over $9,000 and I have ridden it only 600 miles since then. The bike is the last of the seven vintage BMW motorcycles that I have owned and I am only selling now because I am leaving on an open ended sailing trip around the world and it is time to sell everything I own.  If you are interested in a restored R27 then this is the one you have been waiting for.

Everything in the engine, trany, final drive, and steering was rebuilt with no expense spared. I had intended to keep this bike the rest of my life.  The speedo was rebuilt at Palo Alto. The paint was redone, the fuel tank was replaced, Fuel system rebuilt.... the list goes on and on. All receipts are available along with a two inch thick file of receipts and history for the motorcycle.

I kept the bench seat that was original to the bike in this rebuild.... But converting this to saddle seat is easy to do and the parts are all readily available.

Because I have put so much into this bike..... My price is really very firm. Please do not contact me for lowball offers that are along the lines of the other eBay sold listings that I see for bikes that are in 'original' condition. This bike was loved and cared for then rebuilt to the highest standards possible.

2015 BMW S1000XR Spied – Inline-Four Multistrada Rival on the Way

Mon, 31 Mar 2014

Spy photographers have captured a new BMW adventure-tourer powered by the S1000RR’s Inline-Four engine. The new model, which we expect will be called the 2015 BMW S1000XR, will be more road-oriented than the company’s bread-and-butter GS line, offering a competitor to the likes of the Ducati Multistrada 1200 or the recently reviewed Aprilia Caponord 1200. Other publications that have published the spy photos (Insella.it and MotorcyclistOnline for example) have put forward names such as S1000F or S1000 ADV for the new model, but a trademark application BMW filed with the USPTO suggests it may be introduced as the “S1000XR”.

BMW bling and new mittens

Fri, 08 Jul 2011

An hour and a half in my shed was all it took to bolt two boxes of goodies from R&G Racing on to my S1000RR. The casing covers (£190.00), cotton reels (£25.49 ), frame inserts(£21.00) and crash protectors (£67.99)are a doddle to bolt on and come with all the necessary allen bolts. The multi adjustable rearsets (£350.00) are equally as easy to fit (they must be if I can do it) and also come with clear instructions.
