This R-27 has been in
our family for over 45 years. I had Kevin Brooks at Brooks Motor Works in
Washington do a frame off restoration that cost over $9,000 and I have ridden
it only 600 miles since then. The bike is the last of the seven vintage BMW
motorcycles that I have owned and I am only selling now because I am leaving on
an open ended sailing trip around the world and it is time to sell everything I
own. If you are interested in a restored R27 then this is the one you
have been waiting for.
Everything in the
engine, trany, final drive, and steering was rebuilt with no expense spared. I
had intended to keep this bike the rest of my life. The speedo was
rebuilt at Palo Alto. The paint was redone, the fuel tank was replaced, Fuel
system rebuilt.... the list goes on and on. All receipts are available along
with a two inch thick file of receipts and history for the motorcycle.
I kept the bench
seat that was original to the bike in this rebuild.... But converting this to
saddle seat is easy to do and the parts are all readily available.
Because I have put so
much into this bike..... My price is really very firm. Please do not contact me
for lowball offers that are along the lines of the other eBay sold listings
that I see for bikes that are in 'original' condition. This bike was loved and
cared for then rebuilt to the highest standards possible. |

CFMoto 650TK Riders Set Record with 21,222-Mile Tour of China
Fri, 20 Dec 2013A couple of adventurers have claimed a new world record for longest journey by motorcycle in a single country after completing a 21,222-mile trek around China. Buck Perley and Amy Mathieson completed their trek, traveling all 33 of China’s provinces in 147 days on a CF Moto 650TK sport-tourer. Guinness World Records still needs to ratify the couple’s journey, but if it stands, they will have surpassed the previous record of 18,041 miles set by Steven H. Siler earlier this year, after he completed his 26-day trip around the U.S.
Capirex’s New Ride: the BMW M MotoGP Safety Car
Wed, 11 Apr 2012Retired racer Loris Capirossi has been named BMW M MotoGP Expert, representing the official MotoGP safety car provider in the world championship. Since retiring from racing after the 2011 MotoGP season Capirossi has been serving as MotoGP’s Safety Adviser. That, plus his familiarity with the MotoGP paddock and its racing circuits, makes him the logical choice as an ambassador for BMW M, the German manufacturer’s racing-performance subsidiary.
