BMW R-Series description

R27 BMW 250cc German motorcycle.  Tag, frame and engine numbers all match.  NO TITLE.  Speedometer shows 5,723 miles, but do not know if original.  Bike has been sitting in a shed for about 35 to 40 years and will need total restoration.  Motor turns over, transmission works thru all 4 gears and the wheels roll.  Gas tank has some rust pits on outside lower part but on the inside of tank has original primer and looks like new with no rust.  I do not have keys for tool box and cannot check for original tools.  Parts that are missing-front fender stay, battery box cover, hand throttle, headlight switch cover, and front brake lever.  Bike comes with NO TITLE but can give bill of sale.  What you see is what you get.  Sold as is, for parts.  No warranty.  Good luck bidding.

New: BMW System 6 Evo helmet

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

BMW has released the new System 6 Evo flip-front helmet.  It retains the clean lines of the System 6, while increasing levels of comfort and practicality with a more scratch-resistant internal sun visor, a more robust visor mechanism designed to make operation with gloved hands easier, improved ventilation control on the chin, and a revised spoiler for better aerodynamics. BMW says it has a unique chin bar pivot which reduces the size of the helmet when the chin bar is upright. Weighing in at 1.57kg, the ECE 22-05 homologated Evo is a quiet lid, with noise levels registering at 84-86 dBA at 62 mph. The helmet comes ready for installation of the BMW Communication system, offering a Bluetooth connection to the BMW Navigator IV sat-nav, music players, mobile phones and other BMW helmets.

Capirex’s New Ride: the BMW M MotoGP Safety Car

Wed, 11 Apr 2012

Retired racer Loris Capirossi has been named BMW M MotoGP Expert, representing the official MotoGP safety car provider in the world championship. Since retiring from racing after the 2011 MotoGP season Capirossi has been serving as MotoGP’s Safety Adviser. That, plus his familiarity with the MotoGP paddock and its racing circuits, makes him the logical choice as an ambassador for BMW M, the German manufacturer’s racing-performance subsidiary.
