BMW R-Series description

The good:
I've got a beautiful and rare 1959 R26 BMW up for sale that is an all triple matching serial number (363195) bike. It just had a ton of work done including a fresh top end motor rebuild and the transmission was also rebuild ($3,500 worth of work completed by Scottie's Workshop in Santa Clara, Ca.) A bunch of upgrades too like new handle bars, single side mirror, new exhaust pipe, Pagusa saddle style seat (comes with original twin seat as well!), some original tools included, upgraded timing chain guide (making the bike run quieter), points/plug, new main seal, new piston rings, emptied slingers, fresh fluids, cool black and yellow plate that reads "1959 BMW", lots of receipts, original owner's manual, everything works, runs great and have a clear title in hand.

It's got that cool cafe racer look without even trying! The sleek new handlebars and single side mirror help though :) The bike gets tons of thumbs up from all kinds of riders and is a great foreground for any photo op. Every time I pull over to get off the bike it gets a lot of attention and cool conversations ensue. I've only put about 50 miles on the bike since all the work was completed. I'm looking to sell off a few things because I'm moving and need the room. Plus, I hardly ride the bike because I don't have time to enjoy it as much as someone else should. This would be a fantastic piece to display in a hip boutique or just a sweet ride to get a lot of attention on. Use it for cool photoshoots if you're an avid photographer and vintage bike enthusiast!

Not many of these single cylinder 250cc bikes were imported or exist in the US today. Americans wanted the twin engine more powerful bikes in the day and overlooked these popular European single cylinder bikes. Today even in Europe they are very difficult to find because they were used as daily transportation and people ran them into the ground. Now very few of them are left. This is a 57 year old bike and looks awesome! A great piece to hold onto and appreciate in value!

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The minor:
I bought a couple of parts (that come with the sale) that should be replaced; a small condenser in the ignition coil and an oil cover gasket. The bike runs great and starts on the first kick, but when warmed up a bit it loses a little power due to that condenser, but both are very easy fixes!!! Willing to replace the parts myself for the winner if I have time. The tank and back fender were nicked in small areas, but the previous owner touched it up and only adds to the charm of this beauty.

If you're looking to get the bike shipped I can help with accommodating, coordinating and being available for your shipping company. If you've never shipped a vehicle before, I can recommend how to go about that; it's very simple and I have shipped 5 cars and a few motorcycles in the past.

I'll need a deposit of $500 within 24 hours of winning bid. Please have your financing in order when bidding. I will consider other offers and may end the auction if price is right. I'm an honest seller, so feel free to ask any questions by sending me a message. Sale is final and sold as is.
