BMW and Tom Tom Join Forces

TomTom, the location technology specialist, has announced that it will provide its comprehensive navigation stack to BMW Motorrad’s global lineup. Utilizing TomTom's maps, navigation, and real-time traffic services, BMW Motorrad's new models will offer an advanced built-in navigation experience. This system can also be accessed via the BMW Motorrad Connected App, available for both Android and iOS.

Max Biaggi strengthened his hold on the 2012 World Superbike Championship lead with a pair of wins at Italy’s Misano circuit. The Aprilia rider out-battled the Althea Ducati duo of Carlos Checa and Davide Giugliano to win Race One before taking a relatively easier Race Two victory. Before the races, WSBK riders lined up on the starting grid to hold a banner expressing their support for the Emilia region in northern Italy which has been suffering from earthquakes and continuing aftershocks since late May.

The 1390 Super Adventure S EVO (besides being quite a mouthful) introduces new bodywork with a stubbier front end that creates a silhouette that looks a bit more like KTM’s rally racers, while still holding on to a few cues from the 1290 SAS like the opening behind the radiator shroud and pretty much everything else from the back half of the bike. KTM’s aggressive marketing campaign around the new Super Adventure has it dicing around a racetrack with an RC8R, before activating the ultimate cheat code and cutting through the dirt to reach the next corner first.
