BMW Other description

I am going to be honest here, I am only selling this bike because we need more room in the garage. This is the same Bike model that Nate Kerns made Famous. I personally love this bike for many reasons. 1st. Its a BMW... It is Bulletproof. The longevity of the R1200 motor is practically legendary. 2nd looks, Ok, its not a Ducati, but look at the bikes overall styling. I had to drive 2 hours to pick this up. and as I drove home with it on the trailer, It staring at me, it really stared to grow on me. The rear swingarm and wheel is my favorite part. Next handling, It is a heavy bike, but it doesn't handle that way. I keep up with my friends on Ducati Superbikes all day with this baby.. In the corners in the mountains, Im usually faster. The bike is very well balanced. And it is comfortable as well. 1 more thing i have on my friends.. I can go all day and they are complaining about how they need to "stretch." It is a great "2-up" (good for a passenger) bike as well I have only mildly modified this bike. A full Remus Titanium Exhaust (with stainless Headers), An MWR High Efficiency Airfilter (if you have not seen these and already own a R1200 bike, you need one!), R&G racing, Swingarm protector, Axle Protector, and Carbon Fiber-Kevlar Cylinder Head Protectors. I also swapped out the clutch with a C2 Slipper Clutch. (if you are not familiar with a slipper or "anti-hopping" Clutch what they do is keep your rear wheel planted when you shift at high RPM.. no Hopping means you will keep traction, Making you safer, and this makes you faster). The Bike Does not have ANTILOCKING BRAKES (adds about 2-three pounds and it is a race bike after all) or warmed handlebar grips (do you really need them?) and yes, no Ohlins either, but seriously, the Sachs is just as good. The only real detractor is it does have the 5.5 in wide rear wheel which means you cannot run the wider 190 rear tire (need the 6.0 rear), but honestly the maneuverability of the 180 is good enough that its not a problem in my book! This is a great bike and it will be an absolute blast for a future lucky guy (or gal)! It will leave a hole in my garage, but its ok, maybe we can finally park a car in there... Title is in hand so no waiting on that either

BMW Motorrad has shown what can be built around the in-line "two" from the middle "goose" F850GS

Tue, 26 Jun 2018

The 9Cento is a sports tourer with crossover features, and its appearance evokes associations of Italian design. So, for example, the short sportbike “tail” unobtrusively resembles the upturned, stunningly beautiful stern of Ducati Panigale sportbikes. The motorcycle is built on the basis of an in-line two-cylinder engine from the BMW F850GS, and we would not completely rule out the possibility of such a handsome man appearing in the production program.

EBR 1190 Wins 2011 European Superbike Championship

Wed, 02 Nov 2011

Harald Kitsch and the Pegasus Race Team has won its second championship on the EBR 1190RR, capturing the 2011 European Superbike open race class title. The championship follows Kitsch’s win in the 2010 Sound of Thunder V-Twin Championship on the Erik Buell Racing racebike. While the Sound of Thunder championship was won against other V-Twin machines, the European Superbike class included sportbikes from the Japanese Big Four, BMW, Aprilia and Ducati.

Drool-worthy new trials bike

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

THIS is the new Montesa Cota 4RT260 Factory, a sort of BMW HP4 of the trials world. Developed in collaboration with Honda, and the Repsol Montesa Honda Trials team, it’s got a 259cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine designed to compete with smaller two-strokes while producing less emissions. There are two versions, the £5,699 standard 4RT260, aimed at amateur-to-advanced riders, and the more competition-focussed Factory Race Replica version, with Showa suspension, at £6,799.
