WSBK: 2012 Donington Results – Video

BMW earned its first-ever World Superbike race win at the U.K.’s Donington Park, but missed out on sweeping the round after teammates Leon Haslam and Marco Melandri crashed on the final corner while battling for the lead in the second race. Melandri earned BMW its landmark first win in Race One leading Haslam in a one-two finish. They could have repeated that finish in Race Two but Haslam low-sided after making contact with Honda‘s Jonathon Rea trying to pass on the inside.

Be honest, now May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, which makes it as good a time as any for all of us to take stock of our own riding habits, both good and bad. BMW Reportedly Discussing Partnership with India’s TVS Motor

BMW is reportedly in talks with TVS Motor to develop new motorcycles for India. A potential BMW-TVS partership would follow similar arrangements between Bajaj Auto and KTM and between Hero MotoCorp and Erik Buell Racing. The Wall Street Journal reports the two companies are discussing a possible technological alliance.
