Tarmac, offroad, stones and sand: These are the challenges the new BMW R 1200 GS Adventure is longing to master with its easy and agile handling. Or to put it briefly: A motorcycle for riders who are seeking real adventure and dont want to miss out on a great deal of riding pleasure in the process. Conquer any type of terrain on an enduro which meets all your practical needs. Two standard-fitted ride modes – Rain and Road – are available at the press of a button and offer two completely different, finely tuned riding experiences. Its like having two motorcycles in one. Further riding modes are also available as an option. 7.9 gallons in the fuel tank combined with the engines optimized fuel efficiency really make you unstoppable on and off the road making unwanted stops a thing of the past. In addition the standard level of equipment was improved, e.g. to include an on-board computer. This enables perfect navigation and provides the rider with useful data such as fuel level, average speed and fuel consumption. This travel enduro is rounded off by a newly integrated compartment above the tank which allows you to keep small items within reach at all times. The R 1200 GS Adventure responds dynamically in any situation thanks to the legendary 92 foot pounds of flat-twin torque and 125 bhp delivered by the new, air/liquid-cooled two-cylinder four-stroke engine. The R 1200 GS is also characterized by its unmistakable design, further improved seating comfort, wind and weather protection and by its muscular presence. BMW's optional extras are getting ridiculous

Sat, 25 Jan 2014

The third instalment of the Indian action blockbuster Dhoom became the highest grossing Indian film of all time. More interesting than that are the laughable bike scenes, with Dhoom 3 featuring one chase scene between a K1300R and a S1000RR. In the first Dhoom film a Hayubasu magically transformed into 125cc bike for a train jump.

2023 BMW S1000RR Review - First Ride

Thu, 29 Dec 2022

Bavarian Bullet Credit: Photos by BMW Motorrad/Markus Jahn and Jörg Künstle It scarcely seems possible that BMW Motorrad’s lineup-leading S1000RR sportbike actually made its official public debut a whole decade and a half ago in April 2008, with deliveries beginning the following year. Even though 15 years is a long time, especially in the Superbike arena, where serious players like BeeEm, as well as Ducati, Aprilia, and the Japanese, don’t stint on investing in fast-moving high-end technical R&D in pursuit of engineering excellence, the German brand’s first-ever customer motorcycle with a transverse-mounted four-cylinder has maintained its leading edge reputation for both mechanical and electronic innovation ever since then, and the newly introduced latest version is no exception. This is because, for the coming 2023 model year, BMW has essentially uprated its existing volume production version of the bike by transplanting a good chunk of the array of technical upgrades available until now only to around 1,200 well-heeled or well-sponsored users of the M1000RR, the uber-expensive, uber-performing version of BMW’s street-legal superbike that’s been on sale for the past two years, essentially as a homologation special for Superbike racing.
