BMW Other description

2014 BMW G 650 GS Serto, Power, robustness and agility combined with maximum control. This is what the G 650 GS Serto stands for - a machine designed to master even the most adventurous forays into off-road terrain. Naturally its outstanding ride characteristics not only make it excel here but also in everyday riding on country roads or in city traffic. No wonder - with these technical features: The engine generates 48horsepower at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 44 foot pounds at 5,000 rpm. Fuel consumption is sensationally low at 74 mpg at a constant 55 mph and thanks to its extremely low weight of 390pounds with full tank the bike handles easily in every situation. The G 650 GS Serto is a thrilling bike to look at, too. The exclusive color design is classic in Aura White / Arroy Blue while remaining modern at the same time. The luggage carrier is in Black and the seat in Black / Grey. Enduro fans will also enjoy the wide range of equipment. Thanks to state-of-the-art ABS the braking performance of the G 650 GS Serto reaches a new level on wet asphalt. Apart from riding safety, a high level of comfort is ensured by the heated grips and the socket which ensures untroubled travel feeling on long distance rides. The equipment features are rounded off by the original BMW Motorrad alarm system. All this makes the G 650 GS Serto a versatile Enduro which calls out for adventure, like the exciting desert of Brazil after which it was named. Let yourself in for adventure!

BMW Design Chief David Robb Steps Down; Edgar Heinrich Named Successor

Mon, 30 Jan 2012

David Robb, the man responsible for BMW‘s split-face motorcycle design, has left the German manufacturer. A native of Boston, Mass., Robb joined BMW as its design chief in 1993, and over the ensuing 18 years expanded the company’s product line to include the top selling R1200GS, the six-cylinder K1600GT and GTL, and the S1000RR superbike (that’s him on the far right in the picture above). The 56-year-old’s latest design to enter production are the C600 Sport and C650GT maxi-scooters.

40,000 bikers are expected to head to the Bavarian town of Garmisch-Partenkirchen during the first week of July for the annual BMW Motorrad Days event and you can join them. Billed as a celebration of all things two-wheeled and BMW, the event gives you a chance to test ride all the current BMW Motorrad and Husqvarna models and see stunt-riding world champion Chris Pfeiffer and meet the BMW World Superbike riders. BMW have organised a UK rideout to the event and with over 200 places taken so far, time's running out to book your slot.

BMW Offers Education in Adventure

Wed, 31 Dec 2008

I was never a fan of mathematics in high school. This would be of no surprise to any of my teachers or parents, I assure you. My justification was that none of my instructors could explain the practical applications for such numerical oddities as logarithms, permutations, or binomial theorem.
