On this machine you can take potholes with one inch more clearance than on the R 1200 GS. Perfect ergonomics, optimum gearing for every terrain. The special equipment features off-road ESA and ASC continue to be unsurpassed. Unstoppable is their motto.The bikeâ¿¿s unstoppable character is further enhanced with the new DOHC engine which first displayed its impressive performance in the legendary HP2 Sport. For the R 1200 GS Adventure, torque was given higher priority than output in line with practical considerations. And you can feel it. The 88 foot pounds of torque at the peak at 6,000 rpm is one thing, but the consistently higher level of torque in the relevant range up to 5,000 rpm can be fully experienced. The output has been increased to 110 horsepower at 7,750 rpm.The supreme riding pleasure is underscored by a powerful sound from the new exhaust system with exhaust flap which will everyone will love â¿¿ so take a test ride now!

Ex-BMW Executive Pieter De Waal Joins Zero Motorcycles Board of Directors
Tue, 26 Mar 2013Zero Motorcycles announced the addition of Pieter De Waal as the newest member of its board of directors. De Waal provides Zero with more than 30 years of experience in the automotive and motorcycle industries. Formerly of Nissan, Delta (General Motors), Mercedes Benz and, most recently, BMW, De Waal has experience dealing with many facets of the industry, from engineering to sales.
BMW Reports 2012 Sales Results
Tue, 19 Mar 2013BMW released its year-end 2012 financial report, reporting revenues of 1.49 billion euros (US$1.93 billion) from its motorcycle business in 2012, up from 1.44 billion euros in 2011. The increased revenues came in a record year for BMW with the company selling an all-time record of 106,358 motorcycles in 2012. Despite the increase in sales revenue, BMW reported a much smaller profit from its motorcycle business, earning 9 million euros (US$11.6 million) in 2012, compared to 45 million euros in 2011.
