2013 BMW F800GS, Challenges? Yes! Compromises? No! This is the motto of the revised F 800 GS - the sportiest member of the big GS family. The motorcycle continues its longstanding success story, providing impressive versatility both on and off the road: the ultimate versatile enduro machine with sporty genes. The front section of the body in particular has undergone significant transformation: the new fuel tank trim, intake snorkel, upper mudguard and a new windshield give the bike that extra dash of dynamic performance, reflecting the off-road side of the F 800 GS. Lowering is now available as an option for the F 800 GS, too. So in conjunction with the low seat, this means it is possible to create a seat height of 32.3 inches. Meanwhile, ABS as standard, ESA (Electronic Suspension Adjustment) and the optional ASC (traction control) ensure the familiar degree of comfort and the necessary safety. The F 800 GS comes in three exciting colour variants: Kalamata metallic, Alpine White 3 und Cordoba Blue. Charley Boorman Tours Canada for New Series
Wed, 08 Jun 2011Actor and adventure rider Charley Boorman is getting ready for another journey, this one taking him across the Great White North on a tour of Canada. Best known for his Long Way Round and Long Way Down documentaries with his friend and riding partner Ewan McGregor, Boorman is touring Canada for a new series called Extreme Frontiers: Canada for the U.K.’s Channel 5. BMW Motorrad Canada will provide Boorman with his ride, likely from its GS line.
FIM Updates Superbike Racing Homologation Lists for 2013
Tue, 19 Feb 2013The International Motorcycling Federation (FIM) has released an updated list of motorcycles homologated for the 2013 Superbike, Supersport, and Superstock racing season. Notable additions include the new BMW S1000RR HP4, the MV Agusta F3 and the Superbike-spec Ducati 1199 Panigale R. To qualify a production-based racebike for FIM homologations, manufacturers have to meet certain production thresholds.
