BMW Other description

2013 BMW F700GS, Carefree motorcycling fun for everyone! With the F 700 GS the direct successor to the F 650 GS. A shorter gear transmission ratio in the 75 bhp engine enhances agility while at the same time guaranteeing the bike's familiar top-class handling. This makes the F 700 GS an ideal all-round machine within the GS family, suitable for every kind of rider no matter how experienced. What was good has just got better: with ABS as standard* and ESA, not to mention ASC as an option, the ride is not just safer but also offers especially high comfort. Low weight, reduced seat height and a lowering option make the F 700 GS a perfect all-round enduro bike especially for female riders. GS feeling everywhere: the new design of the windshield and dial faces and the smoke-tinted turn indicators and LED rear light give the F 700 GS the grown-up look it deserves. The three colour variants offer something for everyone: muted Red Apple Metallic, masculine Ostra Grey metallic matt and dynamic Glacier Silver metallic. As usual, there is once again a wide range of options and special accessories for the F 700 GS to allow you to tailor your BMW to your individual preferences. The new F 700 GS. GS feeling everywhere. * From model year 2013

BMW Helps Vertically Challenged

Tue, 02 Dec 2008

No matter where they go or what they do, it seems that people who are vertically challenged always get the ‘short’ end of the stick, pardon the pun. Historically, if a pint-sized person wanted to get into the hobby of motorcycling, their choices were limited to bikes like the Suzuki Marauder, Ninja 250 or HD Sportster (the thought alone makes my back hurt.) BMW Motorrad now has good news for riders who either need or simply prefer a lower seat height, but do not want to compromise on model choice. BMW is the first motorcycle manufacturer to launch a range of models that can be ordered from the factory with lowered suspension – to provide customers with low seat height options.

AMA Pro Racing Announces Basic Twins Flat Track Class for 2014 Season

Fri, 12 Apr 2013

AMA Pro Racing announced a new class for Flat Track racing designed to provide a new stepping stone for up-and-coming Pro-licensed racers, replacing the Pro Singles class in 2014. The new class, to be called Basic Twins, is more or less a revival of the Basic Expert Twins division that ran during the 2007 and 2008 seasons, but dropped when the Pro Singles class was introduced for 2009. The new class will give young racers a chance to showcase their skills on Twins, easing their transition to eventually enter the Grand National Expert Twins class.

BMW “Persistent Erection” Lawsuit Dismissed

Tue, 18 Mar 2014

The Superior Court of San Francisco has dismissed lawsuits against BMW and Corbin-Pacific Inc. brought on by a man who claimed a motorcycle ride gave him an erection that lasted for several months. The story made headlines and drew much ridicule after the man said vibrations from his 1993 BMW K1100RS and Corbin aftermarket seat resulted in a case of priapism, a condition in which a penis remains erect for a prolonged period of time.
