BMW Other description

This is a flawless 2012 BMW K1600GT with every option available. This includes: ABS, GPS (secure in dash and displays speed limits on every road), Adaptive Zenon headlight (shines the light around corners and up\down hills, brilliant), ESA (Electronic Suspension Control with Normal, Sport and Comfort), Dynamic\Road\Rain engine settings, Heated front and rear seats, Heated grips, Electronically adjustable windshield, Cruise control, AM\FM\SAT Radio with iPod\iPhone\mp3 connector and compartment, Massive display of information controlled by the left handgrip's multi-dial, Alarm with key-fob that locks all bags and compartments, Quick detach sidebags (with removable liners (not pictured)), I'm sure there are something's I've forgotten. The extra goodies are: Multi-setting driving lights mounted on the forks , the Touratech Tank bag and of course the titanium Akrapovic exhaust system. Chances are you are familiar with this bike if you're looking at this, but if you're not, please check some articles on it. Journalists have been gushing about the bike since it was introduced. One ride shows you why as it's incredibly light and responsive for a bike this size, amazing really. With 158hp and 129ftlb of torque it's also legitimately fast! As in, sportbike fast. Yet the engine is so smooth that it rides extremely well at a relaxed pace too. You can ride an entire road in one gear, 3rd through 6th, and it's almost the same experience. There's never been an engine like this one. Speaking of the engine, it sounded good stock but sounds incredible with the full-titanium exhaust system put on it. It's not loud at all, in fact it's the perfect volume and the baffles could be removed if you choose. This is not a cheap system, receipt for $2700 parts alone, but with the engine sounding the way it does, it was well worth it. I am selling the bike because I need an offroad capable bike to help with my photography habit. I enjoyed wonderful trips to the likes of Yosemite, Yellowstone, Death Valley and Moab on the bike but found that I wanted to wander off the highway to get the really good shots. So I'm selling this beauty and hope it goes to a loving home. It's a ridiculously good machine that is so capable of doing everything you could ever ask of a road bike and doing all of it well. Those trips put the majority of the roughly 6500 miles on it. The 6000 mile service has been done by a BMW dealership and I have the receipts, for everything. Heres a link to more pictures, these were taken very recently and the bike is in this condition: :// /user/PortlandChamp/slideshow/BMW%201600%20GT%202012 Asking $23,000 obo. Please call or text anytime at 8 1 8 - 5 7 1 - 7 1 7 5 to discuss.

Need more from your S1000RR?

BMW has launched an HP Race Power Kit for the S1000 RR costing £2,850 including VAT.For trackday riders and racers, the kit - a new ECU and an Akrapovic exhaust system - increases peak power and torque, while optimising the bike’s engine, braking and power management systems, claim BMW, for short circuit riding and racing.Ayrton Badovini’s 2010 FIM Superstock 1000 championship-winning bike uses the HP Race Power Kit. It can also be found on the Jentin Racing-BMW Motorrad S 1000 RR being raced by Richard Cooper in the British National Superstock championship.• Maximum engine output increased by 4bhp and 6lb.ft to 197bhp (147kW) and 88.5 lb.ft (120 Nm) with power and torque significantly bolstered throughout the key 5000 to 9000 rpm midrange• Once installed, the power mapping for the four engine management riding modes (‘Rain’, ‘Sport’, ‘Race’ and ‘Slick’) is identical and the S 1000 RR delivers the full 197bhp across all four modes• The different modes instead alter the electronic rider aids with the Race ABS reducing input and the Dynamic Traction Control allowing full power at greater lean angles as the modes move from ‘Rain’ through to ‘Slick’• Engine braking on overrun is reduced giving more balanced corner entry• Pit-lane limiter activated when the start button is held down in first gear (actual speed maintained may vary with the bike’s gearing)• Akrapovic titanium and carbon-fibre full exhaust system saves 6.8kg over stock and includes a baffle which allows the exhaust to meet noise regulations in place at some circuits

EICMA 2013: 2014 BMW nineT First Impressions – Video

Tue, 05 Nov 2013

We were one of two US motorcycle publications to attend the unveiling of the 2014 BMW nineT in Munich a few weeks ago. The unique roadster was designed to both embody and celebrate the 90 years of BMW motorcycles by emphasizing the archetypical form of BMW’s qualities. Now, as part of the EICMA 2013 show, the rest of the world media and the public who are lucky enough to be in Milan get a chance to throw a leg over one.
