BMW Other description

2012 BMW F800ST, The state-of-the-art parallel twin engine with electronic fuel injection in the 2012 BMW F 800 ST develops 87 horsepower from its 798cc, not to mention a mighty 63 foot-pounds of torque. And with the deep, throaty exhaust tone, its sound is every bit as impressive as it performs. The bike is light, agile, and fast. While the website calls it a roadster, some might call it a naked bike. Whatever you want to call it, the BMW F offers the perfect combination of highway riding with a high degree of maneuverability for everyday urban use. The BMW F 800 ST offers a breadth of performance that pleases experienced riders just as it does beginners, in particular because all 87 horses of power are available across a perfectly linear engine speed range - in other words ridability and riding fun across the board. The F 800 R is great in the city, stable on the highway, and agile on the backroads. To add to some of the appeal, anti-lock brakes come standard. A lightweight, rigid aluminum frame and dynamically styled double swing-arm, means the bike is also extremely maneuverable. This bike had something for everyone: experienced riders will be attracted to its acceleration and handling capabilities while enjoying the responsive, dynamic characteristics newer riders or riders looking to get back into motorcycling will be attracted to the confidence a light, responsive motorcycle like this offers. More on 2012 BMW S1000RR Recall

Fri, 27 Apr 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has officially announced the recall for the 2012 BMW S1000RR, providing more information about the problem. According to documents released by NHTSA, the bolts on the connecting rods in the BMW S1000RR may come loose because of an anti-corrosive agent applied to the bolts. The anti-corrosive agent may effect the bolt torque, potentially leading them to come loose, particularly at high temperatures or rpms.
