BMW Other description

2009 BMW G650GS LOW CHASSIS, A RARE LOW SUSPENSION and LOW MILEAGE G Series 650 single in almost immaculate condition. Sold new at Bob's in October of 2009 this bike needs absolutely nothing except a new rider and owner. It has but one tiny blemish on the right saddlebag which is sort of hard to see but we've shown it anyway. We don't think you'll find a nicer, better cared for G650 anywhere in the greater DC, Virginia or Maryland region let alone a very hard to come by Low Chassis version.Fully serviced all along, Bob's technicians just completed a full annual service including brake fluid and coolant. We also added fresh nitrogen to the tires which are in excellent condition with what we believe is 70 to 80% of their tread remaining. We also ran it through our extensive and through PPI and MSI process to insure it passed the stringent State of Maryland requirements along with those bringing it to an even higher level so it qualifies for our Exclusive ADVANTAGE CERTIFIED Program. This is a great machine for both a novice looking for their first BMW motorcycle or an experienced rider seeking a machine capable of taking them cross country to attend this years' BMW Motorcycle Owners of America (BMWMOA) National Rally in Salem, Oregon in July -- Bob is riding there so what are you waiting for?

EICMA 2012: BMW Motorrad Celebrates 90th Anniversary with Special Edition R1200GS, R1200R and R1200RT

Tue, 13 Nov 2012

BMW announced it will introduce an all-new Boxer to celebrate its 90th year of motorcycle production, but you didn’t think the German manufacturer would stop there without a couple of other special edition models, did you? To mark the anniversary, BMW revealed special edition “90 Jahre BMW Motorrad” versions of its R1200GS adventure bike, R1200R roadster and R1200RT tourer in Milan at the 2012 EICMA Show. All three models come in a Sapphire Black Metallic color with matte black engines, gold anodized suspension and brakes, and asphalt gray metallic swingarms, trailing arms and rear frames, and granite gray metallic cylinder head covers, and a nickel-plated polished brass plate on the upper fork.

The future. But we can't have it

It's no secret that we motorcyclists are getting older. We're ageing because less people are passing their bike test each year (roughly 30,000 last year compared to 50,000 for the 10 years before the new two-part test) and so not only is the pool not growing it's not even being replenished and so the average age isn't being diluted down by yoof. When the going gets tough in any situation, you really get to see who's got their shit-sorted and who's light enough on their feet to adapt to change.

When you think of making a round-the-world motorcycle tour, you usually think of an adventure touring bike like the BMW R1200GS à la Ewen McGregor and Charley Boorman in “Long Way Round“. Sean Jordan, a Canadian expatriate living in Budapest, Hungary, had a different steed in mind: a Vespa P200E scooter. On Dec.
