Combining the potent torque of the BMW Boxer engine with the sophisticated design and smooth ride of a premium-touring machine, the R 1200 RT delivers an optimal mix of excitement and ergonomics. It’s equally at home nimbly leaning into a Rocky Mountain pass or gliding gracefully over a grey slash of Montana highway. A two-section adjustable seat, electric windshield, and BMW’s rider-tested Paralever and Telelever suspension systems all contribute to the uncompromising comfort of the R 1200 RT – mile after mile after mile. Created to bring together a youth-oriented lifestyle element and sustainable mobility, the scooters take significant design cues from the MINI lineup of cars while using a lithium-ion battery pack to deliver guilt-free mobility. Making the MINI E Scooter Concept almost excessively hip is its smartphone integration, where the owner’s iPod or similar device acts as the actual key for the scooter, clicking into a central docking station between the handlebars.
Survey Says Harley-Davidson and BMW Motorcycles Less Reliable Than Japanese – But Owners Don’t Care
Tue, 26 Mar 2013A new survey conducted by the Consumer Reports National Research Center finds BMW and Harley-Davidson owners are much more likely to report major problems with their motorcycles than owners of Honda, Kawasaki and Yamaha motorcycles. The survey, which will appear on the April 2013 issue of Consumer Reports, says one in three BMW owners reported experiencing a major problem with their bikes in the last four years. Harley-Davidson owners were slightly better, with one in four reporting serious issues.
