BMW Other description

2006 BMW K1200S, This really is one of Bob???s personal favorite bikes, he owns and rides a custom painted red and silver 2006 with very similar extras. This one is in beautiful condition cosmetically and mechanically. It had just one owner since new but was not sold new at Bob???s. There is perhaps no more perfect color scheme for a German motorcycle than some combination of the Bavarian blue and white colors and this one is stunning and the paint work, all original as best we can tell is in near flawless condition. This machine saw a full end to end service at another dealership in May of 2012 just 400 miles earlier and we just changed the oil (BMW synthetic) and filter again. It also has a near perfect set of recently installed tires to which we???ve removed all air and added Nitrogen as is standard at Bob???s. We???ve also added a Powerlet, renewed a final drive pivot cap, resealed a small leak on the transmission shift cover and taken it out for a solid ride to confirm everything meets with our standards so it can be included in the ADVANTAGE CERTIFIED program at Bob???s BMW. In fact one of our techs took it home over night and logged over 50 miles so we know it???s running really fine. We also insured that all warranty or service bulletins were up to date and it has a fresh Maryland State Inspection Certificate. It???s nicely outfitted between factory options and aftermarket goodies and includes Integral ABS, Electronic Suspension or ESA II, The On Board Computer which provides all sorts of useful on the fly information and heated grips. Plus this one comes with a Garmin ZUMO GPS, a REMUS exhaust and BMW expandable and removable saddlebags that are key matched to the bike. It also comes with one spare key, one emergency spare key, the factory tool kit and the owner???s manual and is only awaiting a new owner ??? one of the nicest we???ve had in a year at least.

Vines motorcycle scrappage

Fri, 17 Jul 2009

Following this year’s earlier Budget announcement about the government’s car scrappage scheme, Vines of Guildford BMW has created a similar scheme for motorcycles. Bike owners with motorcycles bought five or more years ago will be given £1,000 off the list price of a new BMW motorcycle when using their old bike as a part-exchange*.  Riders just need to ensure they have at least six months MOT left and the bike must be taxed with clear HPI.  Just like the Government’s car scrappage scheme has been put in place to help drivers, and the car industry, through tough economic times, Vines of Guildford wanted to offer motorcyclists the same opportunity, to purchase a brand new BMW motorcycle with the benefit of the £1,000 part exchange. As well as enjoying this benefit on the purchase price of a new BMW bike, riders can also look forward to complimentary panniers with all new R1200GS and R1200GS Adventure models, and complimentary Zumo sat nav system with the new R1200RT until 30 Sept, plus access to BMW’s Select Finance options to get riders on their bikes straight away with the option to change their new bike every two to three years.

BMW's second-gen maxi-scooter is an impressive machine With no US publications invited to Barcelona for the BMW CE 04 introduction (that we know of), we enlisted Friend of MO Bertand Gahel to give us his thoughts on BMW’s second generation urban electric scooter. He didn’t disappoint. —Ed.

Kymco to Supply BMW with i3 Electric Car Range Extender and New 400cc Scooter Engine

Fri, 25 Jan 2013

The automotive world has been buzzing of late about BMW‘s upcoming i3 electric car having an optional range extending gas-powered motorcycle engine. As our sister site Autoguide.com reports, the i3 will be available with an optional two-cylinder BMW motorcycle engine to power a generator which can recharge the electric motor and extend the vehicle’s range to 250 miles compared to a range of 60-90 miles relying just on the battery. It turns out that two-cylinder motorcycle engine will actually be provided to BMW by Taiwanese manufacturer Kymco.
