BMW Other description

5812 S. Broadway Dang this is a beautiful bike. I get compliments on it wherever I ride it. It is a 2003 BMW K1200GT. It runs and drives perfectly. The Michelin tires were new less than 3000 mis back. A major service was performed at that time. You can get on this bike and ride it anywhere. It shows 58K miles. I am continuing to ride it, so the miles will go up. I have over 1200mis on it myself. I love BMWs, whether they have 2 wheels or four. This is the 3rd BMW bike I've had for sale since March. I now have the 4th too, a 2002 R1150RT, if you prefer an opposed twin. See my other ad on craigslist. If you're looking here, you know what great bikes they are.Note the REAL cruise control, electric windshield, heated seat and handle bar grip switches in the photos. When I bought this bike it had a broken clutch lever, which I replaced, and some barely noticeable paint damage on the lower left fairing. I spoke to the former owner and found out that his friend backed into it and knocked it over. It was not moving. I don't know if they are still friends. There is only very minor cosmetic damage. I'll probably have to point at it before you can see it. The color matched saddle bags and top bag were not on the bike when it got tipped, and are undamaged. I bought them from the former owner. NADA shows it's worth at nearly $7000 without extras. You can own it for $5695.You may have to click and drag this URL to your address line: http://www.nadaguides.com/Motorcycles/2003/BMW/K1200GT_-1171cc/ValuesI can be reached through Craigslist email, but I don't check it often. To prevent spambot emails, please mention FRED in your subject line. Without FRED, I may not answer at all. It's better to just call me at during daylight hours . If you come for a test ride, please bring your own helmet, gear if you have it, and motorcycle endorsed driver's license.

BMW C650GT Recalled in Canada for Loose Luggage Rack Fasteners

Mon, 27 May 2013

Transport Canada announced a recall for the 2013 BMW C650GT scooter because of a problem with its accessory luggage rack mounting. On certain units, the fasteners which secure the luggage rack to the rear of the passenger grab rail may loosen over time. This may lead to the rack, and any cases attached to it, to fall off, potentially striking other vehicles, pedestrians or other objects.

BMW 1000RR and the Honda C70, are they indestructible?

Wed, 20 Apr 2011

I’ve managed 1374 miles on the Michelin Power Pures (mostly on track) and although we’ve had some decent temperatures they still look like new so there’s plenty meat left for another month at least. I’ve been running them at 30psi front and 32psi rear and find they warm up after a few miles but I wouldn’t say the temperature comes any quicker than any of the competition so it has to be four miles before I get brave. I’ve had a few out the seat moments with my BMW but I have got the rear suspension  set pretty hard (8 rebound,8 compression, two turns on pre load) and in slick mode, so 190bhp in first gear at the Knockhill hairpin is always going to be dodgy.
