2002 Bmw R 1150 RS, recently new ohlin shocks front and rear, Givi bags, remus exhaust, tank bag, bra headlight protector, adjustable bars, and more - Now, entering the 2002 model year, this senior model in BMWs current motorcycle range is being replaced by the new R 1150 RS. Like the R 1150 GS, the R 1150 R and the R 1150 RT, the R 1150 RS now also comes with a larger and more powerful engine complete with a fully controlled catalytic converter and six-speed transmission. Reflecting the increase in power and performance, the brake system has also been upgraded, with BMWs new EVO brake on the front wheel and, as an option, with BMWs new Integral ABS, in this case the partly integrated version more appropriate for this sports-oriented machine. Other new features are the wheels and a larger windshield. All this makes the new R 1150 RS even more dynamic and agile, more comfortable and safer - simply the ideal sports tourer.

James Toseland Announces Retirement from Racing

Two-time World Superbike Champion James Toseland announced his immediate retirement from motorcycle racing due to a debilitating injury to his right wrist. Signed with the BMW Motor Italia racing team, Toseland has been limited to just seven of 20 races in this season’s WSBK Championship due to the wrist injury initially suffered during a private test at Spain’s Aragon circuit in March. After undergoing an operation for the injury, Toseland made two attempts at returning to racing, first at the Miller Motorsports Park round in May and again at the Silverstone round in July.

BMW have taken a rapid step in the right direction, what with their K1300S, S1000RR and F800R. Recently rumours have been flying around that BMW are to produce a scooter, possibly a hybrid. And while we know it's well within their means, we'd rather they concentrated on the sharpening the cutting edge of road bikes.
