BMW Other description
2002 BMW K1200RS, We don???t get enough really clean, fully serviced used sport touring machines regardless of the model or vintage from the BMW line up to generally meet the demand we see so when one shows up that has what we feel is a solid heart and a strong drive line but may be in need of some services, minor to medium repairs and even some light cosmetic attention we???ll still gladly take it in and make the full investment to bring it up to our high standards. This is one of those stories and one of those bikes and the end result is even better than we???d hoped for. And the regular client we took it in trade from has owned it since 2003 so it???s basically had only one home even though it has had two owners as best we can tell. With below average miles and generally a good overall history it simply needed to be brought up to date in all areas and needed a new windscreen due to some scratches and decals plus there were a few nicks and dings that indicated it had tipped over, likely in a parking lot or driveway and more than once or even had a small spill so it did not look beautiful but could be once again. And in our professional opinion it was all minor so we selected to make this bike just about perfect again since it ran perfectly and did not show any signs of abuse or neglect. The bike was also regularly serviced here at Bob???s since 2003 and had recent biannual service here around 39,000 miles in 2011.

BMW Produces 500,000th GS Boxer
Wed, 19 Mar 2014BMW‘s most important model reached an important milestone as the 500,000th boxer-engined GS rolled off the company’s production line in Berlin, Germany. The landmark liquid-cooled 2014 R1200GS follows a lineage half a million strong of flat-twin adventure tourers tracing back to the first R80G/S produced in 1980. “As a plant it is a privilege for us to continue building on the successful history of the legendary flat-twin GS,” says Marc Sielemann, head of the Berlin plant which produces the bulk of BMW’s motorcycles since 1969.
Intermot 2012: 2013 BMW R1200GS Breaks Cover
Tue, 02 Oct 2012BMW pulled the covers off the latest iteration of its popular R1200GS, revealing a number of updates including a new boxer engine at the 2012 Intermot show in Cologne, Germany. The German manufacturer has sold 170,000 units of the R1200GS since it was introduced in 2004, making it the world’s top-selling adventure-tourer, so BMW obviously has a lot riding on the new 2013 model. The biggest change for the 2013 BMW R1200GS is its new 1170cc engine.
