BMW Other description

1950 BMW Other , This is a fully and 100% restored 1950 R 51/2 BMW with title. Currently in my garage in Athens, Greece where I finished restoration a few months ago. All original German parts - matching numbers engine and body, engine and all mechanical parts 100% restored. (The write stripe on the front fender has been corrected. It is now at the edge of the fender). This is a brand new motorcycle. Immaculate. A collector's item. Bike will be shipped over to US upon commitment from buyer. Some History: bike was bought from a gentleman in San Diego in 1998. Looks like it was owned by gangs in the 50's and 60's due to emblems and cut exhaust pipes (have some pictures). The first few years 1998-2008 I did research and collected few missing parts from around the world. Actual restoration took place from 2009-2013 with the assistance of an experience and known restorer in Athens Greece. Completely restored inside out by the book. $23,000.00

David Robb, the man responsible for BMW‘s split-face motorcycle design, has left the German manufacturer. A native of Boston, Mass., Robb joined BMW as its design chief in 1993, and over the ensuing 18 years expanded the company’s product line to include the top selling R1200GS, the six-cylinder K1600GT and GTL, and the S1000RR superbike (that’s him on the far right in the picture above). The 56-year-old’s latest design to enter production are the C600 Sport and C650GT maxi-scooters.

Transport Canada Recalls 2013 BMW R1200GS for Traction Control Bug

Thu, 21 Feb 2013

The 2013 BMW R1200GS hasn’t arrived in showrooms yet and it’s already been subjected to its second recall in Canada. Fortunately, this means the problems should be corrected before BMW‘s updated adventure-tourer gets delivered to customers. Earlier this month, Transport Canada announced a recall for the new R1200GS for a potential transmission oil leak.
