BMW K-Series description

Garage Kept BMW K1200LT, bike is on a battery tender when in the garage. This bike is well maintained by a BMW Certified Mechanic. As much as I love this bike - I have only ridden it 1,500 miles in the last year. It deserves to be ridden by someone with more time than I have. Equipped with GPS, AM/FM radio, CD Player. Electronic Windshield. Cup Holder. Extra LED Driving lights are installed. Heated seat and grips. The bike came from the factory with a power center stand. When the power center stand failed several years ago BMW told me there were two parts that could fail. One cost $6.00 - the other was $1,400. The failed part was the expensive one. I had the dealer remove the power center stand and replace it with a manual center stand from a 2004 K1200LT. The tires were replaced last year. The radio was replaced 4 years ago. Battery is new. The drivers backrest is not in the picture, but comes with the bike. The windshield is an aftermarket upgrade. This bike handles like a dream, on the back streets, on country roads, on the superhighway you couldn't ask for a better ride. Very capable to handle riding two up for long periods. Located in Northern Virginia - I can deliver in the Mid Atlantic States for a modest fee. Bimota revealed a new concept sportbike at the 2012 EICMA Show equipped with a BMW S1000RR engine. The Bimota BB2 concept is the first product of a new partnership signed with BMW that would see the German manufacturer supply S1000RR engines for Bimota. The S1000RR engine has class-leading numbers, with the 172.4 hp we measured in our 2012 European Literbike Shootout a 10.4 hp advantage over any literbike we dyno’ed for that shootout or the Japanese Literbike Shootout.

BMW Reports 2012 Sales Results

BMW released its year-end 2012 financial report, reporting revenues of 1.49 billion euros (US$1.93 billion) from its motorcycle business in 2012, up from 1.44 billion euros in 2011. The increased revenues came in a record year for BMW with the company selling an all-time record of 106,358 motorcycles in 2012. Despite the increase in sales revenue, BMW reported a much smaller profit from its motorcycle business, earning 9 million euros (US$11.6 million) in 2012, compared to 45 million euros in 2011.
