K1200LT I HAD THIS BIKE SINCE 18,000 ON THE CLOCK HAD NO TROUBLE WHATSOEVER ALWAYS RELIABLE ,REGULARLY WAS SERVICED AND MAINTAINED BY MYSELF AND VARIOUS MOTORBIKE GARAGES IN UK FRANCE AND GERMANY .ALWAYS GARAGED .2 KEYS .I HAVE NOT BEEN ABLE TO RIDE AS I USE TO SINCE SEPTEMBER 2015 DUE TO SHOULDER INJURY AND AGE,SO I HAVE TO DOWNGRADE TO A LIGHTER WEIGHT ,ALL THE ELECTRICAL PARTS ARE IN WORKING ORDER,BRAKE RELAYS WAS CHANGED FOR MOT BUT BMW GARAGE RECOMMEND THE BREAK SWITCHES TO BE CHANG TO RECTIFY THE STAYING ON BREAK LIGHT TO PASS MOT (RADIO ALL THE HEATERS E-SCREEN R-GEAR CRUISE CONTROL IN PERFECT CONDITION)HANDLE TO A TOP BOX IS BROCK SMALL SCRATCHES ON THE PANNIERS AND TOP BOX DUE TO STRAPPING TRAVEL BAGS AND TEAR ON RIDER'S SADDLE,SMALL SECTION NEXT TO CRASH BAR IS MISSING .CLUTCH WAS CHANGED AT 58,000 BE FOR ANY PROBLEM,NEW BMW SCREEN WAS FITTED AT 78,000 BECAUSE THE OLD ONE WAS NOT CLEAR. HIGH MILEAGE IS BECAUSE OF LONG DISTANCE TOURING,ON THIS BIKE YOU CAN GO FOR EVER IN COMFORT .I AM NOT A VERE OF ANY OTHER PROBLEM

European Parliament Makes ABS Mandatory, Tighten Emissions Standards by 2016

The European Parliament voted overwhelmingly in favor of new rules that would increase emission standards and make anti-lock braking systems mandatory for all new large motorcycles, scooters and trikes and quads by 2016. The new regulations, which would still need approval from European Union member states, may only directly affect Europe, but they will have a wide-reaching affect on manufacturers’ product development for other markets. BMW, for example, has already made ABS standard for all its motorcycles for 2013.

EBR 1190 Wins 2011 European Superbike Championship

Harald Kitsch and the Pegasus Race Team has won its second championship on the EBR 1190RR, capturing the 2011 European Superbike open race class title. The championship follows Kitsch’s win in the 2010 Sound of Thunder V-Twin Championship on the Erik Buell Racing racebike. While the Sound of Thunder championship was won against other V-Twin machines, the European Superbike class included sportbikes from the Japanese Big Four, BMW, Aprilia and Ducati.
