This bike is a one owner. I bought it new from the Plano dealer in 2002. It has only 11,500 miles. I'm selling it obviously because I never ride it. When I did it was trips and highway miles. I upgraded the rear wheel and tire to a 190 $1000. I upgraded the exhaust for performance $1000. And to drop 40 or so lbs from the catalityc converter. Other than that it is stock. This is an amazing bike for 6k. Like new. It comes with a tank bag. Vans n Hines leather$650 in 2002. Gel charger helmet etc. If you are not familiar with the Evo braking system it is ridiculous. BMW Reports Record Sales in 2012
Wed, 09 Jan 2013BMW reported a record year for motorcycle sales, supplying 106,358 motorcycles and scooters in 2012. This represents a 2.0% increase from the 104,286 units sold in 2011. Helping BMW reach its new sales record was a strong December which saw sales of 6,069 units worldwide, a 43.4% increase from the 4,232 units sold in December 2011.
EICMA 2013: 2014 BMW S1000R Revealed
Tue, 05 Nov 2013BMW revealed a new naked version of its flagship S1000RR superbike, presenting the new 2014 S1000R at the 2013 EICMA show in Milan. Follow the rest of our 2013 EICMA show coverage The 999cc inline-Four engine has been retuned for low- to mid-range performance, with redesigned cylinder head ducts, modified cam profiles, updated engine management and a 2000 rpm reduction in the rev limit. BMW claims a peak output of 158 hp at 11000 rpm, compared to the S1000RR’s 193 hp claims.
BMW Bounces Back with Record August Sales
Thu, 06 Sep 2012When BMW released its second quarter report last month, the company reported a 4.2% decrease in BMW and Husqvarna motorcycle sales due mainly to a struggling European economy. The economic woes persist but BMW appears to be recovering, reporting a new sales record for the month of August. BMW reports sales of 7,400 motorcycles and scooters in August 2012, a company record for the month and an 11.3% increase from the 6,646 units sold in August 2011 and 14.7% more than the 6,405 units sold in August 2010.
