BMW F-Series description

It’s had all it’s scheduled maintenance called for in the manual (based on mileage milestones). I have most of the paperwork for oil changes etc, though I did an oil change and a little bit of work on my own a while back. (replaced a seal that required taking the left side engine cover off).
All maintenance has been done at Morton's BMW in Fredericksburg, VA. There has been some general upkeep maintenance as well, but all of that has been documented and can be relayed in conversation if there is interest.

The bike has run like a top since I bought it. I had the 18k mileage service done on it when I got home from deployment. That included pretty much all fluids (oil, brakes etc). It’s got brand new tubes and tires.
The chain is not brand new, but was put on recently, kept cleaned and lubricated and has plenty of miles to go.
Realistically, other than the worn out seat, the bike is in very good condition and ready to ride for a while.

Comes with a spare set of knobbies and plenty of riding gear.

ATGATT? – Question of the Day

Thu, 02 May 2024

Be honest, now May is Motorcycle Safety Awareness Month, which makes it as good a time as any for all of us to take stock of our own riding habits, both good and bad. Most motorcyclists are familiar with the acronym “ATGATT”, but for those who aren’t, it stands for “All The Gear, All The Time”. That means wearing the right safety equipment every time you ride, whether you’re commuting to work, or hopping over to the corner store for a carton of milk.

Drool-worthy new trials bike

Fri, 25 Oct 2013

THIS is the new Montesa Cota 4RT260 Factory, a sort of BMW HP4 of the trials world. Developed in collaboration with Honda, and the Repsol Montesa Honda Trials team, it’s got a 259cc single-cylinder four-stroke engine designed to compete with smaller two-strokes while producing less emissions. There are two versions, the £5,699 standard 4RT260, aimed at amateur-to-advanced riders, and the more competition-focussed Factory Race Replica version, with Showa suspension, at £6,799.
