EICMA 2012: Aprilia RSV4 R Updated with ABS and Power Increase

At October’s Intermot show in Cologne, Germany, Aprilia announced a number of upgrades to its RSV4 Factory, giving the sportbike more power, anti-lock brakes and a number of other updates. This week at the 2012 EICMA Show, Aprilia extended those updates to it’s slightly less upscale but still pretty damn good base model, the RSV4 R. The production versions of Max Biaggi‘s World Superbike Championship-winning racebike, the Aprilia RSV4 R (all-black in these pictures) and the RSV4 Factory (pictured with red trim)  receive an engine upgrade to reduce internal friction and casing ventilation.

Aprilia celebrates MotoAmerica Twins Cup dominance with stars-and-stripes livery To celebrate its successful campaign in the MotoAmerica Twins Cup, Aprilia is releasing a new limited edition RS 660 in stars and stripes livery. Photo by Ryan Adams The RS 660 won 10 out of 13 Twins Cup races, along with nine second-place finishes and seven third-place finishes, not to mention six pole positions. Kaleb De Keyrel won five of those races for the Robem Engineering team to win the Twins Cup, earning him an invitation to the final round of the Aprilia RS 660 Trophy at Italy’s Vallelunga circuit.

WSBK: 2011 Utah Results

Carlos Checa extended his lead in the 2011 World Superbike Championship, winning both races at Utah’s Miller Motorsports Park. The Althea Ducati racer recorded his second double of the season and now has six wins in ten races. Checa also scored the double in Utah in 2008 when Miller Motorsports Park made its debut on the WSBK calendar.
