Though the Tuono handles fueling with four fewer injectors than the RSV4 (the Tuono does not have shower injection), the dyno numbers for horsepower and torque between the two models are nearly identical. The Tuono V4-R also get's Aprilia's industry leading Aprilia Performance Ride Control (APRC) system. This multi-tiered system not only offers smoothed traction control intervention (no harsh cuts!), but also offers Wheelie Control and Launch Control, all with various settings depending on rider preferences or road conditions. Aprilia U.K. will offer a quick shifter as an optional add-on to the Aprilia RS4 125 entry-level sportbike. Inherited from the Aprilia RSV4 R APRC, the quick shifter allows for clutchless upshifts without needing to close the throttle.

The company confirmed to the French publication Moto-Station that such a significant event will take place in the autumn at the EICMA Milan show. However, the final look of the motorcycle remains a mystery. Judging by the not too legible photo of the prototype that was recently caught on camera during tests, there will still be a difference between the exhibition and the road copy.

Tom Sykes had an outstanding weekend in front of his home fans, scoring a pair of wins at the World Superbike Championship round at the United Kingdom’s Donington Park. The Kawasaki racer led every session from first qualifying onwards, before leading all 23 laps in both races for the double. The double victory brings Sykes to within 4 points of series leader Sylvain Guintoli who had a decent weekend himself with a pair of podium finishes.
