Aprilia unveils RSV4 R FW-GP sportbike with technical solutions from the world of MotoGP

On the New Year’s Eve, the company from Noale announced the launch of a new customer program for its racing division and removed the cover from four different variants of the RSV4 “sport liter” at once. At the same time, if the first three, in fact, are machines “cut down” to meet the technical regulations of the competition (two superstocks with different degrees of “roasting” RSV4 R FW-SSTK1 and RSV4 R FW-SSTK2, as well as a superbike RSV4 R-FW SBK), then the fourth , RSV4 R FW-GP, is something special. The new Aprilia is actually created on the basis of a road bike, with an implanted engine from the RS-GP 15 grand prix car.

The Netherlands hosted a dramatic weekend of World Superbike racing that featured a red-flagged wet race, several riders crashing while leading, a first-time race winner, a photo finish between two teammates and the reigning World Champion finishing out of the points because of a poor choice of tires. The 2011 WSBK Champion Carlos Checa arrived at Assen with the lead in the championship and a three-race winning streak, but opting to run wet tires in Race Two cost him the lead and may have contributed to a crash that severely injured Liberty Racing‘s Brett McCormick. 2013 US Motorcycle Sales Data

The Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) reported a modest 1.4% growth in U.S. motorcycle and scooter sales in 2013, with consumers purchasing 465,783 vehicles. The sales data represents numbers from the MIC’s member brands which include BMW, Can-Am, Ducati, Harley-Davidson, Honda, Kawasaki, KTM, the Piaggio Group (which includes Aprilia, Moto Guzzi and Vespa), Victory, Suzuki, Triumph and Yamaha.
